It’s Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is live from the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit MI. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz. We have a new theme song.
Adam Page comes to the ring with a mic and he has something to tell us. He doesn’t know why people are cheering him since he did some terrible things over the last year. He said after he beat Swerve Strickland after their cage match, he’d get closure, but he couldn’t do it. He said that he lashed out at everyone around him so he had to make a decision. His decision was to enter the Owen Hart cup and went over his victories in that tournament. And now, he will be facing Will Ospreay for a chance at the world title at Double or Nothing.
That means it’s time for Ospreay to arrive in street clothes with his OWN mic. Ospreay says this is the first time they have ever spoken to each other and he says it’s a pleasure to meet him. He then praises Page for his run to the title, but since he last that time, Page has had a rough go of it. He then says when Page beat Fletcher, he smiled again. And while he wants Page to beat his demons and reclaim his spot, the problem is that Ospreay is not losing.
He goes over that he has been doing Page’s job, meet and greets, photo ops, and media appearances. He then says this isn’t about Page’s redemption, it’s about Ospreay’s ascension.
They go face to face and at the same time, the Don Callis Family shows on the stage. Don says every day, Ospreay shows how stupid he is. He was stupid for leaving the family, and he is so stupid, he doesn’t know what is standing in the ring with him. He runs down Page, and Ospreay challenges Callis to bring two of his guys to the ring, and Page stops him.
Don agrees as long as Page doesn’t have another mental breakdown before next week.
After Excalibur runs down the card, FTR and Stokely show up and Stokely asks if he has an issue with them, even though they issued him a formal apology. Stokely starts to run him down and Tony grabs his mic and Stokely shoves him back in his chair. FTR tells Tony to relax and then he says Daniel Garcia wants an explanation, and it’s because Garcia turned his back on them, and tomorrow it will hurt them more than it will Garcia, emotionally. Dax says they will see Nigel McGuinness tomorrow night.
