JANEL GRANT VS. WWE LAWSUIT UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2025-05-07 15:22:00

Judge Sarah F. Russell of The United States District Court of Connecticut ruled on several motions regarding the lawsuit Janel Grant filed against Vince McMahon, WWE and John Lauirinaitis.

Judge Russell ruled that Grant would be allowed to file an amended complaint against the defendants, which was officially entered today, a new 101 page document.

“It is certainly clear that some of Grant’s proposed amendments include facts she knew or should have known when she filed the Complaint,” Russell wrote. “But her newly pleaded facts do not deprive Defendants of their ability to timely assert that her claims are subject to arbitration. I accordingly decline to find her amendments are in bad faith.”

Judge Russell, however, sided with McMahon, etc. about holding off on discovery until the matter of whether the case should be sent to arbitration based on the language of the NDA Grant entered into with McMahon.  McMahon and the other defendants have until 6/11 to file a  a motion to compel arbitration.  Grant will have until 7/11 to respond.
