6 - TAKA Michinoku, Taichi, Tomohiro Ishii, Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and Yota Tsuji
Interesting note: When Shota Umino's music played, the camera panned the crowd in Kumamoto. No one was cheering for Umino. That is a major concern. If Umino is supposed to lead Hontai in the future, the crowd is not buying it yet. Considering they were facing Los Ingobernales de Japon and one of the most popular wrestlers (Naito) is leaving the company, Umino is in a bad spot.
Massive pop for Naito's entrance.
The match quickly breaks down into a brawl, specifically Hiromu vs. Ishii, Tsuji vs. Uemura and Takagi vs. Umino. LIJ put on a show for the fans.
Tsuji hits a Gene Blaster on TAKA and gets the pin.
After the match, Takagi hits Umino with a chair and fight into the crowd.
Naito has been getting massive pops from the New Japan crowds. He is still popular and the fans are letting him know they appreciate him. It will be interesting how New Japan builds their current stars to replace these departures. With multiple losses in recent years of top wrestlers and 8 months away from Hiroshi Tanahashi's retirement, New Japan really needs to establish their next stars who can be household names and major draws, not just small crowds in small arenas, but the Tokyo Dome.
7 - Ryusuke Taguchi, El Phantasmo, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira, Great O-Khan and Callum Newman
BIshomon hits a Shoto on Young. Goto pins Young.
Goto thanks the crowd and says the Goto Revolution will continue.
Wrestling Dontaku 2025 will be two nights on May 3 and 4 in Fukuoka, Japan. Best of the Super Juniors begin on May 10.
