WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio announced on his Instagram Stories that he was in Birmingham, Alabama to undergo surgery following his Wrestlemania 41 weekend injury.
Dressed in a hospital gown, Mysterio said:
"Hey Paso. What's up fam? How you guys doing? Out here in Birmingham, Alabama at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center. Getting ready for my surgery. I tore my Adductor at The Smackdown before Wrestlemania. I'm scheduled for surgery today, so I'll keep you guys posted. Thank you guys very much and I'll let you know once I get out."
Adductor muscles are a group of five muscles located on the inner thigh, responsible for drawing the leg towards the midline of the body (adduction). These muscles, including the adductor longus, brevis, magnus, gracilis, and pectineus, play a key role in hip and leg movement, as well as hip stability.
Depending on the surgery required, Mysterio could be out up to several months, but there's no official details on how long he could potentially be out.
