Am I crazy or did The Rock admit on Pat McAfee that there was no real long, thought out creative for Mania season and it all came down to Ari Emanuel needing a Rock appearance to push tickets for the Toronto PPV because they weren't great?

Yeah, one can totally get that feeling listening to The Rock.  I don't think you would be crazy for deriving that from Rock's comments, although I am sure all involved would say otherwise.  It was especially interesting to see someone on the company's Board of Directors comment on how he would have done the creative different.

This may have been asked before, but does WWE own the name Rusev?

Yes, that's why he didn't use it outside of the company.

Does Ava still train at the WWE Performance Center or is she fully done as a wrestler?

I have never heard she is done training as a talent.  If WWE comes up with a creative direction that sends her back to the ring, one would think she'd want to be prepared for it.

Thoughts on the long as hell WWE Hall of Fame speeches from Michelle McCool and Triple H?

I don't have any issue with them and feel that the talents should be able to go as long as they wish.  I never liked when Mr. T or Ric Flair had their speeches cut in the past and I CERTAINLY didn't like seeing Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr. relegated to having five minutes TOGETHER to talk about their careers, because that choice was bullsh** and in my mind, disrespectful to The Funks.  No matter how we may feel about the talents being enshrined into the WWE Hall, for many of them, this is a legitimately important moment in front of their friends, family and fans.  They should be able to talk as long as they want to reflect on their lives and careers.  In all of their cases, one day the speeches will be a historically important document about them after they have passed.  We should want the speeches to be as long and detailed as possible, but that's just my opinion.

I was in Vegas and it seems like every show I was going to, I saw you there or running in and out of that building heading elsewhere.  So, when the hell did you sleep and what was your schedule?

Wrestlemania week is usually just an insane vortex and this year was no different.

To the best of my recollection, I landed Thursday and went right to the Wrestlecon Supershow, then the TNA Unbreakable PPV to cover them live, running from venue to venue.  After doing work at the hotel, I was up the next day and out the door for the Wrestlemania Media Junket at 7:30 AM, then back to the hotel to transcribe the interviews, then went right to Wrestlecon to visit and set up some future interviews.  I then saw the main events at the DDT show, covered the Sabu Retirement Show before going back to the hotel to work and watch the WWE Hall.  Saturday, it was working while watching Stand and Deliver and then heading to Wrestlemania Night One to work in the press room.  Sunday, I checked out, went to Mania Night 2 and left right from the stadium to go to the airport.  Three hours after Mania, I was flying home to NYC and then continued working the second I had Wifi again.

I actually would have done more, but the schedules didn't line up to hit more and I had to devote time to writing articles and chasing stories.  So, I am VERY thankful for the hard work of Cory Strode, Richard Trionfo, Anthony Pires, Matt Ten-Hoeve, David Tees and Adam Cardoza, because without them we wouldn't have been able to have anywhere near the amount of content we did from all the WWE and independent shows.  As I get older, it's harder and harder to do the running around I do, so I sincerely thank and appreciate them for everything they do.

As far as when I slept, well, it wasn't often but most of it was on the flight home.  If I had 4 hours a sleep a night before I got on the plane, it was a a lot.  Between Thursday and Sunday, I would guess I had something in the area of 175-200 articles on the site, plus audios and interviews, and that's not counting content from others that Dave or myself also posted.  Mania week is a lot and there's no time for sleep during it - anyone who looks through the time stamps of the site can see that - but it's a blessing that we get to do it.
