While I was out here covering Wrestlemania 41, I had the pleasure of running into former WWE and Ring of Honor star Cliff Compton, one half of Deuce and Domino during his WWE run. Compton, real name Cliff Treiber, has carved out an entirely new chapter for himself in the entertainment capital of the world.
Over the last five years, Treiber has been a fixture with Cirque du Soleil, working primarily at the world-renowned “O” show at the Bellagio. While he still keeps in touch with many of his wrestling friends, Cliff has fully embraced the Cirque life and become part of that unique and spectacular world that exists under the neon lights of the Vegas strip. Just like professional wrestling, it's an alternative universe where performers use their bodies and minds to create performances that entice and inspire audiences from all walks of life.
Treiber was kind enough to invite me to see Cirque's latest hit, Mad Apple, when I was in town and it was absolutely off the charts.
The former Cliff Compton isn't just flipping in the ring anymore, he’s flipping into a whole new legacy. You have to have a lot of respect for the former Cliff Compton for pivoting and continuing to evolve and entertain in a whole new way.
