Winner’s Circle: The Score was held at the FSW Arena on 4/17/2025. It is available on Triller as part of Triller+. I will be doing a blog for this show rather than full play-by-play. I am going to try to catch some of the smaller shows available from Triller from Mania Week over the next few days to see if there are any hidden gems, performers who impressed, and to let you know if you should seek them out.
The recording of the show starts as the ring is still being set up, so you will want to fast forward to the 31-minute mark to get to the actual show.
Our commentary team is Brandon Washburn, who just introduces himself as the voice of Winner’s Circle Pro. This is a MUCH smaller show than the others I have covered and the sound is muffled.
History In The Making (Jordan Cruz, CJ Tino, CLAS & Devin Reno) vs G Sharpe, Chris Nastyy & Mariachi Montana (Jose & Roland Calamaco)
They all attack when History gets in the ring, but the ref lays down the law. The story of the match is that History is a well-oiled unit, while the other team was kind of thrown together, but they all have issues with History.
They quickly moved to having Nastyy as the babyface in peril as History worked him over with quick tags. He finally gets a hot tag to one of the Mariachi Montana brothers. Eventually both of them are in the ring and they run wild. CLAS and Cruz, who are tag team champions, get in the ring and they brawl for a while. G Sharpe is treated like the big star and when he tags in he gets the Big Star attacks on each member of History.
It comes down to G vs. Reno, who looks to win, but Tino nails G in the back of the head when the ref isn't looking for the pin and the win.
Winners: History in the Making
A well-worked standard match of a heel group against a bunch of babyfaces with an enemy in common. History is made up of bodybuilders, so the match was pretty simple, but an OK opener.
I will also warn you that the music between matches is MUCH louder than the sound from the arena.
Krusty Krew (Dom Kubrick & Lucas Riley) vs Cartel De Los Villanos (Sonico & Fatal) vs Culture Inc. (Eli Knight & Malik Bosede) - A Qualifier “Marathon” Match
After they clear the ring and we get down to one-on-one, they keep to two men in the ring doing high spots before the next two come into the ring. No tags, since it’s a tornado-style match. There’s a lot of brawling on the outside. The Cartel takes over the ring, double-teaming whoever gets into the ring. Then, Culture Inc. does the same until the Cartel is able to get rid of one of the members.
Culture Inc. does some good lucha power wrestling and looks to be the most experienced. The Krusty Krew are the next to work in the ring against one person and they win the match with a sunset flip into a powerbomb on Knight.
Winners: Krusty Krew
Krusty Krew are high spot workers, and after a flurry in the beginning of the match, they finished up the match and had the other teams do most of the work.
Alpha Zo vs Jonathan Gresham
Weird to see Gresham on this show. The story of the match is that Zo is a big admirer of Gresham, but is bigger and stronger than him, so Gresham will have to outwrestle him. They tie up over and over, with Zo always able to force Gresham into the ropes or the corner. Zo gets a series of power moves until Gresham is able to start doing his mat work and stretching him.
Gresham is so smooth, and the way he transitions from move to move is so good. He works on Zo’s arm, and Zo sells it as if he just can’t do anything with the arm. Zo is able to get a heel hook and Gresham has to work to get to the ropes.
One thing I am noticing is that one of the mobile cameras is much better than the hard cam and the other mobile camera.
Gresham is able to win with a sliding clothesline because Zo wasn’t able to get a pin when he was in control due to his arm being taken out.
Winner: Jonathan Gresham
Best match so far, with Gresham and Zo telling a solid story and Gresham’s masterclass level of work. I could watch him every time he’s in the ring, and Zo worked well with him.
Gypsy Mac vs Alex Gracia vs Zamaya - Triple Threat Match for the Vacant Winner's Circle Pro Women's Championship
Another three-way, and they start the match with a lot of quick two counts. Gracia is watching the other two fight more often than not and planning on picking the bones. They do fall into the trap of two women working as one recovers on the floor. The referee is terrible about doing the two count, hitting the first two counts and then pausing to let someone kick out. Mildly annoying.
The match is mostly punches and kicks, and when they do a big move, it’s executed well. I wonder if the referees make me think this is a group who are green. After a middle section with lots of one-on-one fighting, they transition to finishing moves. As we get to people getting a pin and having it be broken up, no one seems to show the desperation and power of breaking up a pin. Zamaya finally hits a powerbomb for the pin and the win.
Winner and NEW Women’s Champion: Zamaya
The women in this match looked green but put together a serviceable match. It would have worked better at about half the length and with a much better referee.
Tyler Bateman vs Alex Kane vs Jai Vidal vs Ice Williams - A Number One Contender’s Match
Ice Williams is a WWE ID prospect.
This match also has a lot of “two in the ring as everyone recovers,” but they do better with making the person on the outside have to sell something. Lots of high spots and a fast pace. There are also slightly different styles with each of the wrestlers, which ups my interest. The story is that the other men in the match see Ice as the biggest threat, so they are doing what they can to take him out, and he is fighting from underneath.
I did laugh when people were hitting their dives and the camera caught someone RIGHT NEXT TO THE DIVES on their phone and not watching.
After the dives, it becomes people getting pins and having them broken up. All four men stay in the ring to be able to break things up. Alex Kane is able to get a double suplex as two men were going for a superplex on a man on the top. Always an impressive power move. In the end, Ice gets a superkick on Vidal for the pin and the win.
Winner and number one contender: Ice Williams
A solid four-way that made everyone look good.
We get a promo from someone explaining the ladder match. He doesn’t give his name, which seems to be an issue for some of the people in this promotion. He ends by saying he will be on commentary and tells a fan to shut up… so I hope he’s a heel. Researching on the web, his name is El Primohenio and he’s out with an injury and had to give up the Pound 4 Pound title.
We get some banter from the ring announcer with the crowd and go back to the title screen they are using between matches.
Honest John vs Bret the Threat vs Matt Vandagriff vs Gringo Loco vs Dante King w/ Gypsy Mac - The winner is the one who pulls down the Pound 4 Pound Championship
Lots of brawling and Bret rolls a ladder into the ring immediately and King does the same. Bret and Matt fight around the ladders in the ring. We have two people in the ring fighting around the ladders and the two in the ring change often. Gringo gets the first nasty shot, suplexing someone onto the folded ladder on the mat.
Lots more brawling and people start to take bumps on the folded ladder. There are not a lot of people in attendance, and even with Triller TV showing it, they CAN’T have a huge gate, so I hope they don’t do anything stupid that could hurt them.
As the match goes on, it’s super clear to me that Gringo is head and shoulders ahead of everyone else in the ring in terms of hitting bumps and making stuff look nasty. Quite a few times when someone starts up the ladder and then pauses to wait for the person to pull them off.
Bret finally chokes out John on the top of the ladder and grabs the title.
Winner and new Pound 4 Pound Champion: Honest John
After the match, they cut away and come back to show the aftermath of Dante King being superkicked.
Glad they didn’t do any big bumps or things that someone could have gotten seriously hurt doing. It was a brawl where Gringo Loco looked like a star and a bunch of other guys who didn’t make much of an impression.
Slice Boogie (World Champion) vs Scorpio Sky
Sky and Slice are around the same size and the story is going to be Slice being stronger than Sky and willing to cheat to keep the title, and Sky is the veteran who is better in the ring. They have a great sequence where both men get quick roll-ups and try for a finisher, but the other is too fresh and is able to block it.
Sky starts working Slice’s arm. Slice is being beaten by Sky until the ref isn’t paying attention so he can go for the eyes or grab a handful of tights, etc. Once he does, he keeps control with his power, not letting Sky get a comeback. After they run into each other and struggle to get up, they pick up the pace and Sky tries for a big move to win, and Slice is able to fight him off. Slice bounces all over the ring for Sky during this section.
The match moves to where they both go for big moves and then have to take time to recover. We get a ref bump and Sky hits the TKO and the crowd counts to ten before Sky tries to get the ref to recover. Slice gets a low blow and hits the Dead Ass Driver and the ref recovers and counts the pin.
Winner and still World Champion: Slice Boogie
This was a solid TV-style match that went about 20 minutes.
I wanted to see this show, even though it wasn’t part of The Collective, as little indies like this may have some hidden gems. In the end, the production was under par. As I watched, I thought it was appropriate that it was in the Future Stars of Wrestling arena, because most of the performers looked to be new and still finding their way. The crowd was small, and in many ways it felt like a small local indy run by a wrestling school.
People with ring time under their belt like Gringo Loco, Ice Williams, and a few others I have heard of did a solid job and gave good experience to the greener workers. I was shocked that Gresham and Sky were both on the show, as I haven’t seen them in any other shows and thought they could get some high-end indy bookings.
I’d recommend the main event and the Gresham match if you are interested in the promotion.
