At Wrestlemania 41 Media Day, WWE Tag Team Champions The War Raiders were 24 hours removed from walking into Allegiant Stadium to defend their titles on WWE’s biggest stage.
The moment isn’t lost on them—especially given how close it all came to slipping away. Instead, they enter a Wrestlemania for the first time at full strength, healthy and ready to go to war.
“This time last year, I was told my career was over,” Ivar revealed. “There was a five-day stretch where I thought everything I’d worked for was gone. Now, not only are we walking into Wrestlemania, we’re doing it as the reigning world tag team champions—and against one of the greatest teams of all time [New Day.]
That emotional weight is something both men carry proudly. After Ivar overcame major neck injuries and Erik endured a near-fatal motorcycle accident, simply being back in the ring together would be significant, but doing so as champions, in a featured tag team title match, makes it all the more meaningful.
“Walking the ramp at WrestleMania is something very few people in this business ever get to experience,” Erik said. “To do it while holding championship gold? There really aren’t words for that. It’s rare. We know any match could be our last, so we’re extremely grateful.”
The global scale of WrestleMania 41 adds another layer to the moment. With the event airing on Peacock in the United States and Netflix internationally, the potential audience is the largest in WWE history.
“We didn’t even know about the Netflix deal until recently,” Ivar admitted. “That’s how big this show is—it’s bonkers. There are probably going to be more eyes on this WrestleMania than any other in history.”
Despite the enormous platform, the team insists their preparation doesn’t change.
“Our mindset is always the same—stay locked in,” they said. “But yeah, the gravity of it? You feel it. You can’t ignore that.”
With years of experience, championships won across the globe, and a deep bond forged through hardship and perseverance, The War Raiders are ready for their WrestleMania 41, and this time, they’re stalking to the ring at full strength.
