The WWE has never been shy of letting its superstars partake in a crossover both on the company’s programming and beyond the square circle. Over the decades, pro wrestlers have gone well beyond their comfort zone to promote the WWE and offer fans something distinctly different.
In 2025, having found its feet on Netflix, the WWE looks to become bigger than ever. Amping this up, there’s bound to be crossovers aplenty for some star performers, beginning with The Role Model, who made her way onto the NBA court earlier this year.

On 14 February, the mat was switched for hardwood when WWE superstar Bayley made an unexpected appearance in major league basketball. At the event hosted by Oakland Arena in California, Bayley joined in with the 2025 Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, putting one of the top WWE stars in the spotlight.
The crossover will surely bring even more fans to the WWE, with Bayley impressing on the court. Now that Monday Night Raw is available to a larger audience than ever before, it’ll be even easier for new fans to follow her exploits in wrestling.
After all, the Netflix show debuted to 4.9 million views when it first broadcast live on 9 January. By February, the show was still pulling in an admirable 2.9 million views. People may also jump over from another streaming platform to see another of this year’s crossover stars.
While she hasn’t wrestled since May 2024, Becky Lynch remains one of the WWE’s biggest stars. Later this year, she’ll feature in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on Paramount Plus, appearing as a guest star in the new TV series. Given how often it has reeled in real wrestlers, we may even see her appear in the show Heels if Netflix gets it running for season three.
There’s something quite lovable about the way in which the WWE has green-lit a whole bunch of ideas for crossovers in the past. We’ve seen Randy Savage do everything from rap to promote Slim Jims, JBL host a poker tournament for superstars, Beyblade and Army of the Dead pop up, and Robocop enter the ring.
There might not be anything that the WWE won’t do by way of a crossover, especially as the company looks to go big in new markets via Netflix and live events. Live crossover events are always the best way to go as they enhance the immersion, authenticity, and peoples' fear of missing out. The WWE has long created epic, can't-miss live events, and many other forms of entertainment have since delved into tapping into live streams.
You only have to look as far as being able to play bingo live online to see just how much more immersion and entertainment value people can get. Much like live bingo getting an engaging and energetic guest host for their many shows, the WWE could create a live crossover with an ongoing live platform or by getting in others who'll feature live on a WWE show. A crossover in a major live PPV event, like the Royal Rumble, would be the way to go. Working the other way, having a superstar appear on a live show like SNL again, would further tap into the power of a crossover.
The WWE is famed for its zany crossovers, but in 2025, we’re guaranteed to have a couple of more natural switches, with Bayley going into basketball and Becky Lynch taking on another acting role.
