AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live at Greater Columbus Convention Center (GalaxyCon) in Columbus, OH Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

We get a recap of the Continental Classic so far. 

Darby Allin vs Komander - Continental Classic match

Darby gets a side headlock takeover for one, and they quickly move to the corner. Komander gets an arm drag, but Darby reverses it to a side headlock. Darby gets an arm drag, and Komander lands on his feet. Darby gets a quick leg based rollup for two and goes back to the headlock. They trade mat wrestling moves until Darby gets a sharpshooter and Komander makes it to the ropes for the break.

Koamnder walks the ropes and goes for an arm drag, but Darby reverses it into an inside cradle for two. They move to the floor where Komnader gets a springboard moonsault off the top ropes. They return to the ring and Komander gets a running corkscrew moonsault off the top rope for two. Komander gets a big thrust kick to knock Darby to the floor and Komander gets a leaping forearm from the to the floor. They brawl on the floor and Darby shoves Komander into the steel steps. He then puts Komander in the chair for a pair of strikes. He then tries to cannonball from the ring into Komander, who gets out of the way, so Darby goes into the chair as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, they run into each other in the corner and are knocked to the mat. As they recover, both men fight in the middle of the ring until Darby gets a Code Red for two. Darby goes to the top and Komander dives into him and they fight on the top. Komander is knocked down and gets right back up and gets a Spanish Fly from the top for two, with Darby grabbing the ropes.

They fight on the apron, and Darby goes to the top, He hits a coffin drop on Komander draped on the top rope. Darby then dives into Komander on the floor. They move back to the apron, and Komndar hits a monkey flip on him and then dives onto Darby. Komander rolls Darby into the ring and walks the ropes, but misses Darby in his dive. Darby then gets a leg takedown and ties Komander up and rolls him up for the pin and the win.

Winner and earning three points: Darby Allin

Renee Paquette is with Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita. Powerhouse Hobbs shows and says Don forgot to contact him while he was injured. He then says he wants a shot at the International Championship. Don says he deserves a shot, but Takeshita is too busy for a match with him, but he’ll get back to him. Hobbs grabs him and says he had best get back to him.

Serena Deeb vs Willow Nightingale - Wrestle Dynasty Qualifying match

They lock up and move to arm bars. Willow gets a body slam from a waistlock. They go back to working arm bars. And then running the ropes. Willow gets a shoulder tackle and goes back to running the ropes. Deeb misses an arm drag and Willow gets a rollup for two. They trade holds in the middle of the ring for quick one and two count pin attempts. 

They fight in the corner and Deeb gets a neck breaker on the second rope. Deeb kicks Willow to the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, both women are struggling to get up. Willow gets a pair of lariats and Willow charges into Deeb in the corner. Willow gets a snap mare and then a spine buster for two. Willow tries for the power slam, but Deeb grabs her leg. Deeb gets in a pair of chops and then follows with lariats, finally taking Willow down with a third one. Deeb gets a release German and another German suplex for two. 

Deeb tries for the Deebtox, but Willow fights her way free, carries Deeb into the corner and then hits a power slam for two. Willow misses a cannonball in the corner. Deeb gets a dragon screw and hits the Deebtox for two. Willow is able to hit the pounce and the straps come down. Willow finally hits the power bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner and moving on in the tournament: Willow Nightingale

Renee is with Thunder Rose and says she has beat Mina Shirakawa last time she was in the ring with her, and then has words in Spanish for Mariah. She will scratch and fight until she gets the title back. 

Pac comes through the crowd with Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, and Jon Moxley.

Mox grabs a mic and says that he will talk about people who don’t want to be AEW champion. No one in the building wants to be champion, they say they do, but they don’t. A small chant starts for Orange Cassidy. Mox says they are not willing to do the work but just want to shine it and take pictures with it. Mox says it is his responsibility to make sure those people don’t get the title. He talks about Jay White and says he is a child who doesn’t know what it takes to be champion. Adam Page is self-destructive.  Orange Cassidy is not the guy his peers thought he was. He didn’t have what it takes. 

Mox says he means what he says and he does not bluff and if Cassidy challenges him again, he will take him off the board.

Orange Cassidy comes to the ring and rolls in, not worrying that he is outnumbered. Cassidy says he can live without ever being the AEW champion, but he can’t live with Mox being the AEW champion, so he will do whatever it takes and he will never stop until Mox is not the AEW champion. He says the only way he stops is if Mox kills him. He then challenges Mox to a fight. Shafir nails him from behind and they all start stomping him down. 

Cassidy is tossed to the floor. Pac and Yuta carry him to the back and we go to commercial. 

We next see FTR in the back and say they have done everything possible to be the best tag team in history. They talk about Fight for the Fallen, which will raise money for people affected in North Carolina by hurricanes. 

They are interrupted by the beatdown of Orange Cassidy and they are holding his mouth open to pour claiming liquid down his throat. FTR knocks the liquid out of their hands and are holding an iron pipe. Mox holds Shafir back from attacking them and the Death Riders leave.

Kyle Fletcher vs Kazuchika Okada - Continental Classic match

They lock up and move to waistlocks and arm bars. They move to the mat and Kyle tries to get an arm bar, but Okada blocks it and the hold breaks. Kyle is able to get an arm bar followed by a snap mare into a rear chinlock. Okada fights to his feet and reverses the hold and brings Kyle down with a side headlock. Kyle gets to his feet and into the ropes, where he reverses the headlock. 

Okada tries to fight his way free, but Kyle keeps the hold on. Okada drives them to the rope for a break. They get a greco roman knuckle lock and go back to the ropes for the break and Kyle does the “You think I’ll hit you but I tap your chest instead” that Okada always does. Okada then does the same thing to him and follows with forearms. Kyle is able to get a scoop slam and goes to the second rope to pose. Kyle then starts with stomps. 

Okada then gets a big boot as Kyle comes off the ropes and drop-kicks Kyle to the floor. Okada follows him and gets a DDT on the floor. Okada rolls Kyle into the ring and then as he gets in the ring, Kyle rolls out the other side. Okada follows him and lays in uppercuts before tossing Kyle into the ring. Okada is getting a lot of cheers tonight. When he gets in the ring, Kyle catches him for a stalling DDT from the second rope as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Okada is laying blows and Kyle gets a knee strike that drops Okada. Okada is able to lay in more blows and Kyle throws hands as well. Okada comes off the ropes and drops Kyle with a blow. Okada gets a running back elbow followed by a DDT for two. Okada grabs the Money Clip, which we haven’t seen in a long time. Kyle is able to escape with an arm drag and gets a half-and-half suplex.

Kyle calls for him to get up and Okada charges at him for a super high flatliner. Okada then grabs Kyle when he charges into a shoulder breaker. Okada goes to the top for the elbow drop. He then flips off the crowd and THEY CHEER IT. Okada goes for the rainmaker, and Kyle dodges it and comes off the ropes into a drop-kick, and Kyle rolls to the floor. 

Okada goes to the floor and Kyle gets a half-and-half suplex. They return to the ring and Kyle gets a super high power bomb for two. Both men go for a boot, with Kyle charging into Okada’s boot. Kyle gets a running clothesline in the corner, but Okada recovers with a rainmaker lariat. They trade kicks and Okada gets a drop-kick, and Kyle is almost shoved into the ref. While the ref isn’t looking, Kyle gets a low blow kick and follows with a brain buster for the pin and the win.,

The Beast Mortos vs The Already In The Ring Aaron Solo

Remember back when they actually pushed Solo?  Remember how that music

Used to make me smile? And I knew if I had my chance that I could make those people dance, and maybe they'd be happy for a while.

Back to the match, Solo isn’t happy since he gets tossed around and is pinned in less time than it took for me to write that.

Winner: Mortos

Renee is with Top Flight, Leila Grey, Action Andretti, and Lio Rush and they have words over the problems they have had over the last few weeks. Lio and Andretti say they need to break off to chase the tag team title. Grey says they need to settle this in the ring. 

Mina Shirakawa vs Emi Sakura

Emi tosses Mina around and then lays in chops in the ropes. Mina is whipped into the ropes and comes off with a sling blade and follows up with a kick to Emi’s back. Mina lays in more kicks. Eli lays in chops and gets a one count after knocking Mina to the mat. Mina starts to shimmy and sees Emi staring at her, and gives a big kick. Emi fires back and goes back to chops. 

Mina goes for more kicks, but Emi grabs her leg and bites it. She then bites Mina’s hand as we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Mina tries for a glamorous bomb, but just couldn’t do it. Emi gets a spinning neckbreaker. Emi gets a double underhook into a backbreaker after showing Mina to all four sides of the ring for two. Emi gets a series of chops, a lariat and an elbow shot. Mina is able to fire back with a sling blade for two. Mina lays in strikes and Emi pulls the ref in front of her.  Mina rolls over the top of the ref for a strike.  Mina then hits a sling blade from the top for the pin and the win.

Winner: Mina Shirakawa

Mark Briscoe and Daniel Garcia - Continental Classic match

Matt Menard joins commentary. 

They lock up and move to side headlocks. They lock up again and Garcia gets a series of takedowns and near falls. When they lock up again, Briscoe forces them to the corner and they go back and forth there as well. Garcia tries to annoy Briscoe with slaps, and Briscoe slaps him down. Briscoe tosses Garcia to the floor and then hits a drop-kick through the ropes and then a dive into Garcia. Nigel calls it a tope con weirdo. 

They return to the ring and Garcia knocks Briscoe to the floor. They brawl at ringside and into the barricades. They go back and forth on the floor and we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Briscoe gets a comeback shot and Garcia is dropped to the mat. Briscoe lays in chops in the corner and then puts Garcia on the top. Briscoe joins him and they struggle for control. Briscoe is knocked down, he comes back and climbs back up. They struggle again and they both fall to the floor. 

They return to the ring and throw hands. Garcia gets the upper hand and beats Briscoe into the corner. Briscoe reverses it and lays in chops. Garcia gets a big clothesline but can’t follow up with a cover. Garcia is knocked to the floor and Briscoe gets a running elbow off the apron to the floor. He rolls Garcia into the ring and waits for Garcia to get up for another clothesline. Briscoe crawls to cover for two.

Briscoe gets an exploder suplex and then a fisherman buster for two. Briscoe then gets a Death Valley Driver, a low clothesline, and Garcia cuts him off when he goes to the top. Garcia gets an avalanche superplex and then rolls through for a pile driver for two. They go to the top again and fight on top. Briscoe knocks him to the mat and hits Froggie Bo for two. Garcia clocks the Jay Driller and gets a jack knife pin for two.

They go back to throwing hands and Briscoe gets a cut-throat driver for the pin and the win.
