So if Marina Shafir is going to continue to attack men, when is it okay for the men to hit her back?
That is a personal choice that depends on your view. To me, in most cases never due to the size difference.
Outside a rare scenario outside a known main event Superstar like Ric Flair in 1991, do you think new talent should be pushed to the titles right away, like the MCMGs? First, it makes the division look weak that newcomers can win the straps immediately.
Generally, no. But the Guns have been a great team for a long time, kind of like Flair coming to The WWF. I don’t think it makes the division look weak because we were told how great the Guns are.
Second, you cut their character arc in half, as you lose a year of stories with MCMG’s quest for the gold. Now, they have nowhere to go but down. Despite being in their mid 40’s, they are nowhere near retirement and could been built up for a minimum of 6 months to build momentum and a genuine connection with WWE Universe. Yay or Nay?
I got nay. Both guys are north of 40. I am OK with a fast track for them. They are up to the challenge. To me, it’s not like they pushed, say, Jade Cargill, to the moon when she still needed seasoning, I would have an issue with that.
I saw that the Call Me Ted docuseries did not feature one mention of Ted Turner’s professional wrestling business dealings. It only encompassed about 30 YEARS of his life if you go back to Georgia Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett in the early 1970s. Is this proof that Warner Brothers to this day views professional wrestling as low brow crap that is only on the air (AEW) because it gives the networks some kind of dependable audience for advertising, even though they look down on it?
Proof? I can’t say because I don’t know the intent of the people who did the piece. But given what WCW meant to TNT 24 years ago, and Ted’s green light of it, yeah it’s weak for sure.
I've seen Mercedes Varnado get a fair bit of criticism since her debut in AEW. While it's easy to say Tony Kahn is the reason (and that might very well be true), I wonder how much of it is related to the character differences between Sasha Banks and Mercedes Mone that Varnado is trying to develop over time. Do you believe the criticism is warranted, or are taking heads simply expecting more than what AEW has given us? I don't think many people thought she was going to come into the company and become the female main eventer like Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley or Chris Jericho immediately, did they?
Well, she did. She controls her creative. Bron Breaker and Jacob Fatu showed and with no body of work to play off of, they got over huge because they are studs and the creative. I have found Mercedes’ creative underwhelming and since she controls it, I think that the criticism is warranted.
