*Moose & JDC vs. Mike Santana & Joe Hendry
*TNA Knockout Champion Jordynne Grace's Open Challenge

*New X-Division Champion Zachary Wentz to appear
The episode kicks off with a recap video of what happened at Emergence - Zachary Wentz winning the X-Division Championship, the match between The Hardys, Mike Santana, and Joe Hendry vs. The System, and the Iron Man Match for the TNA World Title.
The System makes their way to the ring. Alisha Edwards is with them, sporting a bedazzled neck brace. Masha Slamovich is also accompanying The System. As they approach the ring, Tom Hannifan talks about the TNA World Title match between Nic Nemeth and Moose at Victory Road next Friday.
“Do you wanna know something?” Alisha asks. She says that The System was dominant at Emergence. Eddie Edwards talks about how everyone has been hoping for a system failure, but the fact is - The System does not fail. All they needed was a reboot, which was accomplished at Emergence. It’s now time for The System to get their championship gold back. Brian Myers says that he and Eddie are contractually obligated for a Tag Team Title rematch, which they will be using at Victory Road against The ABC. JDC tells the town to “shut up” before handing the microphone over to Moose. Moose reiterates the shutting up. He tells Nic Nemeth that he’ll be facing the man who he never beat for the title. At Victory Road, Moose has “bad news” for him because he’ll be the 4-time champion after Victory Road.
Moose turns his attention to JDC. He says that everyone wants to know JDC’s relationship with The System. He says that if they win the tag team match against Mike Santana and Joe Hendry, JDC will become an official member of The System. But…if they lose, he’s out - and everyone knows what The System does to outsiders.
Alisha says that everyone is asking for rematches. She’s “wicked smaht,” though, and knows she doesn’t have to defend her tag title right away and is under concussion protocol. Therefore, she can find a suitable replacement if she’s not cleared to wrestle.
Spitfire comes out. Dani Luna says that it’s unfortunate what happened to Alisha, but Alisha’s team lost at Emergence. Alisha says that she and Masha already beat them twice. Luna calls them cheaters. Jody Threat says that they talked to Santino Marella. He agreed to give Spitfire a Tag Title shot at Victory Road - but it’s do or die. Spitfire has to win or they break up as a team. Alisha agrees to the terms.
Gia Miller is in the back with Eric Young. He is feeling pretty beat up after his match with Steve Maclin at Emergence. Even though Maclin beat him, Young respects him and has his back going forward. Young talks about the history between himself and Jake Something and says that he’ll do what it takes in their match tonight.
Back from the commercial break, John Layfield’s appearance at Emergence is shown and discussed by Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt. Tom Hannifan says that John Layfield left immediately after Emergence and Nic Nemeth has yet to reveal what Layfield whispered to him.
KUSHIDA vs. Laredo Kid
They circle each other and lock up. KUSHIDA slips behind and works Laredo Kid’s arm. Laredo Kid rolls out of it and trips up KUSHIDA. They stand off. KUSHIDA drives Laredo Kid into the ropes and then into the match. They then exchange armdrags and KUSHIDA works the arm again with an armbar.
Laredo Kid kicks out of it and KUSHIDA runs the ropes, getting dragged and thrown by Laredo Kid. Laredo Kid disposes of KUSHIDA to the outside and thinks about a dive. KUSHIDA hops back into the ring and hits a sunset flip. Laredo Kid goes to the outside and KUSHIDA thinks about a dive. Laredo Kid gets back into the ring, though, and Josh Alexander pops into the ring.
Alexander attacks Laredo Kid and then turns his attention to KUSHIDA. He beats him down and locks on an Ankle Lock until security stops him and gets him to exit the ring.
Winner: No Contest
KUSHIDA gets on the microphone and demands a match with Josh Alexander. Alexander starts to walk up the ramp, but KUSHIDA runs after him and attacks him. As KUSHIDA brings him to the ring, Tom Hannifan says that Santino Marella has made the match official.
KUSHIDA vs. Josh Alexander
Back from the commercial break, KUSHIDA is in control of Alexander, grabbing an Ankle Lock. Alexander stands up at the ropes and KUSHIDA hits a German Suplex. KUSHIDA gets in some hard kicks for a two count and then locks in an armbar. Alexander drags KUSHIDA to the ropes and exits the ring, punching out of the armbar in the process.
KUSHIDA follows Alexander to the outside and tries to get the Hoverboard Lock synched in. Alexander, though, drives KUSHIDA into the ringpost and throws KUSHIDA back into the ring. Alexander chokes KUSHIDA with his shirt and then hits some chops. Alexander kicks KUSHIDA hard in the face and then hits a backbreaker for a two count. Alexander locks in a headlock.
KUSHIDA stands and elbows out of it, but Alexander stops his comeback. KUSHIDA gets a couple punches in and then tries to hit the Pele Kick. Alexander catches him and locks on the Ankle Lock. KUSHIDA rolls out of it and sends Alexander into the corner. KUSHIDA jumps and gets the Hoverboard Lock on Alexander. Alexander is able to power KUSHIDA up into a Brainbuster, though.
Alexander takes down his straps and goes for the C4 Spike. KUSHIDA rolls Alexander up, though, which Alexander gets out of. Alexander hits a German Suplex and then sets KUSHIDA’s leg on the ropes. He jumps up and down on it and then locks in the Ankle Lock again. KUSHIDA won’t tap, so Alexander hits the C4 Spike for the win!
Winner: Josh Alexander
After the match, KUSHIDA is shown struggling in the back - feeling the impact of the C4 Spike. Joe Hendry is checking on him. Josh Alexander comes to the back and Joe Hendry gets in his face. Hendry says that he hasn’t forgotten what Alexander did to him at Slammiversary.
TNA Knockout Champion Jordynne Grace's Open Challenge
Arianna Grace comes out and has a microphone. She has a crown and a sash on and doesn’t look ready to wrestle. She says that she knows everyone wanted her to answer the open challenge, but no - she has exciting news. She’s the new liaison between NXT and TNA. And so, as liaison…the person answering the open challenge is - Karmen Petrovic!
Jordynne Grace offers a handshake and Karmen Petrovic accepts it. They circle and Petrovic gets in some kicks and then goes for a sleeper. Petrovic gets a couple of strikes in. Grace throws Petrovic into the corner, but Petrovic jumps and back kicks Grace. Rosemary is shown watching from the rafters.
Grace takes control and hits a spinebuster. She then spins Petrovic around for a two count. Grace works Petrovic over in the corner with some shoulder strikes. Petrovic is sent into the opposite corner and goes for the back kick again. Grace catches it, though, and picks Petrovic up into an Electric Chair. Petrovic is able to scissor her legs around Grace’s head, though, on the mat. Grace powers out of it and hits an Electric Chair drop.
Grace hits a couple of slams and then Petrovic hits a big kick to Grace’s head for a two count. Grace reverses an Irish Whip into the corner and hits the World’s Strongest Slam. She goes for a Vader Bomb, but misses. Petrovic hits the Petrifier for a two count.
Petrovic is getting in some shots while Rosemary is shown again. Grace takes control and hits a big Powerbomb for a two count. Grace hits a chop in the corner and then some short clotheslines. Petrovic ducks under and gets in some kicks, followed by a spinning heel kick for a two count. Petrovic gets some more kicks in with Grace on the mat. Grace catches a kick and then ducks an enzuigiri. Grace goes for the Juggernaut Driver, but Petrovic blocks it.
Rosemary is still looking on as Grace hits a big spinning back fist. She follows it up by blocking a kick with a hammerfist. She sets Petrovic up on the top rope. Petrovic strikes out of it and hits a crossbody. Grace ducks a clothesline and hits the Juggernaut Driver for the win!
Winner and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion: Jordynne Grace
As Jordynne Grace is celebrating the win, the lights go out. When they come back on, she is down in the ring with a pillow next to her. Rosemary is shown laughing.
The ABC are in the back. They talk about beating The System and start to talk about Victory Road. Just as they are about to do so, First Class interrupts them. AJ Francis says that they shouldn’t be worried about The System, they should be worried about First Class. AJ talks about how they had The ABC beat at Emergence. The ABC says that if they want to run it back, they can do so next week. AJ Francis and KC Navarro leave to talk to Santino Marella.
Back from the commercial break, a video is shown of a female wrestler who is “Coming Soon.” She spoke in Japanese with English subtitles. She says, “The initial spark is a symbol of my awakening. And from this point on…there is no turning back.” Her face wasn’t shown, but the vibe is familiar if you are a wrestling fan. She is shown holding a Japanese folding fan at the end of the video.
Zachary Wentz comes to the ring. He talks about how the X-Division Championship means so much to him. The crowd chants, “You deserve it!” He says that two years ago, he was at a very low point and wasn’t sure if he’d ever wrestle again. However, everyone got behind him and motivated him to not only come back, but become the champion. Mike Bailey comes to the ring. He congratulates Wentz. Bailey says that the championship means that the holder is the best of the best. He’s enacting his rematch clause at Victory Road. Wentz shakes his hand.
The Good Hands come out. John Skyler says that the real star of Ultimate X was Jason Hotch. He says that “they” were robbed of “their” X-Division Championship. Skyler distracts Wentz and Bailey as Hotch attacks them from behind. They toss Bailey and Wentz to the outside as it is announced that The Good Hands vs. Mike Bailey and Zachary Wentz has been made official for right now!
The Good Hands vs. Mike Bailey and Zachary Wentz
Bailey and Wentz toss The Good Hands to the outside and hit a double dive. Bailey throws Hotch back in the ring and takes control for a bit until Hotch is able to tag Skyler in. Skyler takes control of Bailey and brings him into The Good Hands’ corner. Hotch tags in and hits a slam for a two count.
Hotch runs at Bailey in the corner, but Bailey gets a foot up. He follows that with a Missile Dropkick and almost is able to tag Wentz in, but the newly tagged in Skyler knocks Wentz off of the apron. The Good Hands attempt to double team Bailey, but Bailey is able to fight out of it. Wentz is tagged in.
He comes in hot and gets in a bunch of quick, hard strikes on Skyler. He hits a running knee in the corner and then rolls Skyler to the middle of the ring. He hits a running attack and pins him. Hotch breaks it up. Bailey comes back in to take Hotch out. He throws Hotch to the outside and hits a moonsault. Wentz almost gets pinned by Skyler while Skyler holds the ropes. Bailey breaks it up, though, and Wentz hits the UFO Cutter for the win!
Winners: Zachary Wentz and Mike Bailey
Mike Bailey is holding the X-Division Championship after the match and hands it to Zachary Wentz. They shake hands and celebrate the win.
In the back PCO is trying to follow Steph De Lander to the ring. De Lander tells him not to, though.
Back from the commercial break, Rosemary’s appearance on NXT is shown and talked about. Tom Hannifan wonders if Rosemary’s teamwork with Wendy Chu on NXT played a part in what happened with Jordynne Grace earlier tonight.
A video of Rosemary is shown. She’s in or near a cage and there’s some distortion as she talks. The video also goes back and forth between her ramblings and what happened on NXT.
Steph De Lander comes to the ring. She says that Matt Cardona has been causing a lot of issues recently - ruining her wedding and honeymoon. She calls for him to come out and his music hits. He makes his way to the ring. De Lander asks him what’s going on. They are supposed to be best friends, so why is he doing all of this to her? Cardona says that he knows he’s been MIA - not responding to texts or calls. He wants to apologize. He says, “I’m sorry…I didn’t crash the wedding earlier.” He’s sorry that she married PCO. He’s sorry she embarrassed herself. He’s sorry she’s embarrassing him. De Lander says that he can’t talk to her like that. He doesn’t own her.
With that, he takes out a contract. He asks her how she could forget about it. They both signed it on the day he found her in Australia and brought her to the United States. Since then, he’s been doing everything for her - bookings, flights, meals, action figures, and getting her into TNA. He’s held up his end of the contract. Now - it’s her turn.
De Lander grabs the contract. She says that he’s right - he has helped a lot. However, she’s done a lot, too. She’s made it everywhere and to TNA without him. She says the contract means nothing and throws it down.
Cardona says that everyone, including his lawyers, have a copy and it’s a binding contract. She has to do everything that he says - including leaving PCO. He corners her and yells at her until PCO’s music hits.
PCO enters the ring. Cardona grabs De Lander and hides behind her. He pushes her into PCO and leaves the ring, yelling about owning De Lander as he walks up the ramp.
The Hardys are in the back. They talk about having to win next week. They have held Tag Team Championships all over. Next week, they plan on making a statement against The System. If they beat them and then The System beats The ABC, then The Hardys should be in line for a shot. They are tired of hearing you “were” great. They ARE great and plan on showing it.
Eric Young vs. Jake Something
Jake Something goes on the early attack, driving his shoulder into Eric Young in the corner. He picks Young up and drives him into the opposite corner. Young ducks a strike and gets in some shots of his own. Something sends Young into the ropes and hits a back body drop, followed by a running shoulder strike in the corner for a two count.
Something stands on Young’s foot as Young tries to get up. He yanks Young up from the mat and hits a clothesline for a two count. He follows that up with a big powerbomb for a two count. Something shows frustration. He picks Young up and hits a couple of straight jabs for a two count.
Something lines up a clothesline and hits it in the corner. Young Flair Flips out of the opposite corner and then hits some quick strikes. He tries to lift Something, but Something blocks it and hammerfists Young down. Young ducks a strike and hits the Death Valley Driver for a two count.

After the match, Eric Young offers a handshake to Jake Something. Something accepts and congratulates Young. As Young celebrates the win, though, Something attacks him from behind and hits Into the Void. Something goes to continue the beatdown on young, but Steve Maclin runs out to make the save. Something leaves the ring and stares down Young and Maclin as he walks up the ramp.
Video of the Ethan Page vs. Joe Hendry match at NXT No Mercy is shown.
Joe Hendry is approached by Gia Miller in the back. He says that almost winning a title is becoming too common of an occurrence. However, you can’t deny his momentum. He says that wherever we see his face is the place to be…and that place is TNA. He excuses himself as he exits, as he has a TNA World Championship to chase.
Back from the commercial break, the signing of Heather Reckless is made official. She will be facing Gisele Shaw next week.

They go back and forth and Shaw slaps Ash.
Moose & JDC with Alisha Edwards vs. Mike Santana & Joe Hendry
The System comes to the ring first. Joe Hendry has a microphone as he walks to the ring. He says that he knows what’s going to happen - he’s going to get attacked as he spins around as he gets in the ring. Well, tonight - it’s The System who should spin around. They do and Mike Santana is waiting for them!
Hendry and Santana take it to The System and send them to the outside. As this happens, Josh Alexander comes to ringside and joins the commentary table. He just wants a front row seat to see Joe Hendry.
The match gets started with Joe Hendry and JDC in the ring. JDC throws his shirt at Hendry. Hendry throws it back at him. They circle and lock up. Hendry gets in a headlock. He gets thrown into the ropes and hits a tackle. Moose enters the ring and Mike Santana cuts him off. Santana and Hendry hit punches in opposite corners on The System. This is followed by stereo punches in the middle of the ring, which sends The System to the outside.
JDC comes back into the ring and Hendry is in full control. Santana is tagged in and he hits a couple of chops. He throws JDC hard into the corner. Hendry is tagged in. He hits a running elbow for a pin. JDC kicks out and strikes Hendry’s throat. Moose is tagged in.

JDC comes in and also takes a fall away slam. Moose hits a Pump Kick and goes for a suplex. Hendry reverses it into a delayed suplex. Moose rolls out of the ring.
Hendry pumps up the crowd and goes for a dive, but Alisha Edwards gets in the way. Hendry stops the dive and JDC attacks him from behind. Hendry is thrown to the outside where Moose gets some strikes in on him before sending Hendry back into the ring. Moose knocks Santana off of the apron and takes full control of Hendry, tagging JDC in.
JDC gets in some strikes and a chop. Josh Alexander is yelling at Joe Hendry to believe! JDC locks in a guillotine choke. Hendry has fight in him, though. He is able to power the choke into a suplex. He crawls over to Santana and tags him in. Moose is tagged in.
Santana comes in hot and gets in some quick, hard shots on Moose. He drives Moose’s head into multiple top turnbuckles. Santana catches a kick and hits a kick of his own. He then kicks JDC and hits a DDT. Santana turns his attention to Moose and hits a rolling Buck Fifty. JDC tries to attack from behind, but is sent to the outside on top of Moose.
Hendry looks at Alexander, so Alexander tells Hendry to focus on the match. Hendry turns around and Alexander low blows him from behind. The referee didn’t see it. Santana dives onto Alexander and then throws Moose into the ring. Santana is grabbed by JDC as he tries to get back in the ring, allowing Moose to get in a shot. He follows that up with a Spear for the win!
Winners: Moose and JDC
JDC is officially a part of The System. They celebrate and Josh Alexander angrily looks at Joe Hendry.
Nic Nemeth is shown watching from his phone. He says that all Moose had to do is ask for a match. Instead, he took the easy way out and went to social media. Nemeth is a fighting champion, though, and it’s been killing him for months that he didn’t beat the man who was the best. Moose can reboot The System all he wants, but he’ll never take out the Wanted Man.
ten-Hoeve’s Thoughts
A lot happened during this episode! With only two weeks between PPVs, a lot of the Victory Road matches were set up tonight. A few rematch clauses were enacted, so there will be a few matches that we’ve already seen recently. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, as I believe the matches will be rock solid and allow for most of the stories to reach a conclusion as TNA begins their road to Bound for Glory once Victory Road is over.
Arianna Grace being the liaison between NXT and TNA could be fun, especially if she has interactions with Santino Marella.
I like that Jake Something is getting some time and character development.
Josh Alexander has been on fire for so long and I enjoyed seeing him featured in different ways throughout the night. He had an overall, all-around strong show and his eventual match with Joe Hendry is going to be must-see.
