Mercedes Mone commented on her return to New Japan Pro Wrestling in the latest edition of her Mercedes Mag, writing, "I loved my match in DC at Capital Collision, but I am definitely feeling sore. All the travel from Wembley to Champaign to DC definitely took its toll but it was nothing compared to what I endured in the match! Before I get into that, let me say how good it felt to feel and act like the FIGHTING CHAMPION I promised I would be! This was my first New Japan Title Defense, and like I said at my promo at the show, it was 466 days since I’ve been in the New Japan Ring. That’s when I got injured. Ricochet spoke with CBS Sports about making the leap over to AEW at this link. "In WWE, they have a plan," Ricochet said. "They stick to the plan and get to that plan... good, bad or ugly. I want to have that freedom for Ricochet to really soar like I know he can. That fire was kindling. It's always been there, that love for professional wrestling. That love for the sport. My gas can was empty. The fire was there but there needed to be some gas thrown on it to ignite it again and really get it started. That's what I wanted. Where would make me feel that most? I know AEW is going to light that fire under me."
