As we noted earlier today in a press release Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling issues, Don Callis will join Mauro Ranallo as the voices of the promotion for the premiere MLP events in Windsor, Ontario, which will stream on TrillerTV.
In that same press release, Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling revealed a pretty stacked behind the scenes production team for the events.
Tim Walbert, who left AEW in June 2023, was the company's head director from 2019 until his departure. He previously directed Wrestlemania and other major WWE events during his eight year run with that promotion.
Kevin M. Sullivan, who over the course of his career headed TNA and AEW Production and spent time in the trenches for WWE as well, has been named the company's on air branding and production head.
Most surprising was the announcement that Keith Mitchell as Executive Producer. Mitchell retired from working full-time in professional wrestling when he departed AEW in December 2021. Over the course of his run of five decades in pro wrestling, Mitchell has been involved in helping to lead World Class Championship Wrestling, WCW and TNA from a Production end. So, what was thought to be his retirement after five decades in pro wrestling turned out to just be a hiatus.
Josh Alexander vs. Konosuke Takeshita is the first official match set for next month's Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling events in Windsor, Ontario at St. Clair College.
Previously announced for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling are the Speedball Mike Bailey, Miyu Yamashita, the former Jinder Mahal, Trevor Lee aka Cameron Grimes, Gisele Shaw, and KUSHIDA.
The Scott D'Amore production will resurrect the Maple Leaf brand, which was use by the Tunney family in the territory era. Tickets are on sale at https://www.mlpwrestling.com. The events will be streaming live on TrillerTV, priced at $19.99 each or $29.99 for the pair.
