The long awaited documentary The Claw on the life and career of Baron Von Raschke has been released for digital streaming via Prime Video as well. The film tells "The Jekyll-and-Hyde story of James Raschke, AKA Baron von Raschke, one of the greatest villains in the history of professional wrestling. Using Super 8 family footage, rare 16mm vintage clips, and raucous re-creations of actual events starring the Baron himself, what gets revealed is a gentle man still coming to terms with his past, whose only reason to keep on fighting is his love for his family."
Jeanne Basone aka Hollywood in the original GLOW is close to completing her memoir and will be releasing it once they are done with the final proofreading.
The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity will be staged in Milwaukee through October and in Fort Worth, Texas next month. The play, which was nominated for a 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, was first produced in Chicago in 2009 and had runs Off-Broadway and in a number of other markets. The production features a wrestling ring onstage as well as Titan-tron like screens for ring entrance videos, but is more focused on the backstage aspects of the business. A number of names that will be familiar to hardcore fans are name-dropped in the dialogue but one doesn't need to be a wrestling fan to understand or appreciate the drama of the story. If you get the chance, I absolutely suggest seeing the show.
