Hopefully, this will be the only time that I have to talk about this sad state of events.
As you might expect, I have gotten a lot of comments and questions about things that Jim Cornette and his co-host Brian Last have said about myself and the website over the last five days or so.
I have edited the questions to take any extra commentary out. I will state the facts and you can make up your mind from there.
*I do not know Brian Last. If I ever met Brian Last, I don’t remember it. I have not known him since 1995, as he claims. He has no idea why I got into the wrestling business or who I am or am not friends with.
*Brian Last knows nothing about my business or its model. He has no knowledge as to how we make money or the site’s financial health. For the record, thanks to the great product that WWE is putting out, the fantastic team we have here and the support of all of you reading this, as of this morning we are up 18.7% year over year.
*I did not know what Brian Last’s issues were with me until yesterday when he stated on Cornette’s podcast that he took offense to my saying, last year, that he was great as the co-host of the show and, obviously, the show is about Jim Cornette and the stories that he told. I stated that there were other co-hosts that would be great as well, including our own Mike Epsenhart. I think Mike is fantastic and it’s a compliment to be mentioned in the same breath as him.
*Concerning Jim Cornette previously being a fan of the site, that’s true. Jim has had a comp subscription to the site since 2010 and has often praised the site on his podcast concerning Mike Johnson’s fantastic reporting, and even done the same for pieces that I have written.
*Last week Brian Last stated on Jim Cornette’s podcast that “Fucking Dave Scherer has been jealous of Dave Meltzer, insanely jealous of Dave Meltzer, since Summer of ’95”. Brian Last has no knowledge of any such thing nor is it true.
*Since this wasn’t the first time that Jim Cornette allowed Brian Last to make derogatory comments about PWInsider/myself on his podcast, I canceled Jim Cornette’s complimentary PWInsider Elite subscription after Brian Last’s cited remark on the podcast.
*Jim Cornette wrote Mike Johnson and asked him to turn the complimentary Elite subscription back on. Mike Johnson informed Jim Cornette that he would have to broach that matter with me.
*I wrote Jim Cornette and asked why he allowed Brian Last to make the cited comment about me on his podcast last Wednesday. Jim Cornette responded in vulgar fashion and in the process told me that Brian was his partner and the end result was that we were done communicating.
*Upon advice of a good friend of mine who is lawyer, he suggested that I write Jim Cornette, as he identified himself as a partner in the company, and try to defuse the situation. As Brian Last has stated he has purposely ignored responding to my emails in the past, I did not include him.
