The Calgary Herald ran a great piece on the anniversary of Owen Hart's passing at this link with comments from Martha Hart, Owen's brothers Bret and Ross Hart as well as Chris Jericho. It was noted in passing that AEW will do the Owen Hart Foundation Cup again this year with the finals on 7/10 in Calgary at the Saddledome. In the piece, Bret Hart noted that it was a shame Owen's matches are behind a "vault" because of the nature of his death (the matches are all over the WWE Network) with the article noting Martha "she refused to give her blessing to the company whose negligence led to his death, and whom, she feels, acted unethically in the aftermath." Now, the relationship with AEW allows for Owen to be celebrated.
Mercedes Mone has been doing a lot of media leading into tomorrow's AEW Double or Nothing 2024 PPV in Las Vegas. Mone told The Ringer that she's the best women's wrestler of all time. Of returning to the ring after her injury a year ago, Mone commented, "I don’t want to put pressure on myself because I’ve been doing this for 14 years,” Mone said. “I have more excitement than pressure, but I am really nervous as well, just because it’s been a year since I performed, but being in the ring with someone like Willow Nightingale, I know it’s going to be absolutely everything I’ve ever dreamed of. We’re going to go out there and steal the show."
Mone also told US Weekly that she doesn't believe there should be competition between WWE and AEW and she's only competing to be the best in AEW.
AEW has released a Mone vs. Nightingale t-shirt for the PPV:
