THE OTHER AEW, JUNGLE JACK LATCHING ON TO CM PUNK, WAITING FOR MONE AND MORE

On Monday we saw WWE unveil the new WWE World Tag Team Titles and they do look nice.  I think overall WWE’s title belts are improving in their appearance and starting to get closer to a more traditional look.  However, I can’t help but notice now, how they are also becoming incredibly samey.  The World Heavyweight Title and the Women’s World Title are almost identical and now the World Tag Team titles are incredibly similar to those too.  I can’t help but feel a little turned off by the big WWE logo in the middle.  Of course we have the same issue with the WWE Undisputed Championship (please, please, can we drop it and go back to it being the WWE Championship? And while we’re at it, have Cody bring back the classic winged eagle?) and the WWE Women’s Championship also being almost identical.  Why do you think WWE does this and what are your thoughts on it?

I am the wrong person to ask.  I have never really cared that much what the belts look like. I know it's important to a lot of people but it just isn't to me.

Does Jungle Boy not understand that when he constantly makes references to CM Punk, he’s proving that he can’t make a dime without him? I thought he hates the guy.  If he hates Punk so much why doesn’t he try to find a way to make money on his own without referencing Punk?

I think he knows that Punk is the only thing that ever made him relevant so he is going to keep milking it.  I can't say I blame him.  It beats hanging around with a dinosaur.  Even though a lot of people are talking about Perry for the wrong reasons, at least they are talking about him a bit.

Apologies for throwing another AEW related question at you that could easily be answered with "because Tony Khan", but I'm wondering what is the deal with Mercedes Mone? For a company where "the best wrestle" that also has a rankings system, why has Mercedes not wrestled on TV yet? It's one thing to save a debut for PPV but Mone has announced herself as challenger to the TBS title on a PPV that is seven weeks away having done nothing to earn it. Should she not be racking up wins on TV to prove she is worthy (whilst maybe popping a rating) and not just leapfrog the whole roster because of who she is, a'la Hulk Hogan in WCW 30 years ago? Has Mercedes actually been cleared to wrestle or are they hedging their bets that she'll be fine in time for the PPV?

In a sane wrestling world yes, Mone should be earning her Title shot but as you said, AEW isn't a sane wrestling place.  Tony Khan expects everyone to understand she is a star so she deserves it.  And as we know, storytelling is not his strong suit.  Khan said at the post Dynasty presser that she is not cleared to wrestle yet but should/will be by the PPV.

Just wondering, did you know that there’s another AEW out there?  It’s a real estate investment company founded in 1981.

I did not!  I hope that they LOVE REAL ESTATE the way that Tony Khan LOVES WRESTLING!

I always trust you guys for the correct information, so wanted to ask about some stories online re Steve Austin not being at Wrestlemania. A few sites are reporting he was asked to do the spot The Undertaker did but couldn't reach a financial package. Other sites are saying he refused as he didn't like the creative of being a 'number' of people running in. Can you guys elaborate on why Stone Cold wasn't involved in the main event?

All I can say is that I was told that the sides talked and couldn't find a deal that worked for both sides.  Beyond that, I can't report anything concrete and I won't guess and then act as if it’s a fact the way that other sites do.  My guess is that Austin didn’t like the compensation package but that ONLY a guess.
