OSPREAY, BUCKS, MERCEDES, DANIELSON, PPVS AND MORE AEW NEWS AND NOTES

Some AEW Notes & News:

*PWInsider.com is told the Will Ospreay line about Triple H "grinding on the boss' daughter" was a line Ospreay came up with and suggested for his promo last night.  It was not a line given to Ospreay or that he was forced to use.  The entire idea was to respond to the shots WWE took during Mania week, no different than WCW vs. WWF in the Monday Night War era.

*There is a narrative floating around that The Young Bucks were against the creative from last night's TV utilizing the CM Punk footage.  While certainly the idea was something that came from Tony Khan, we are told The Bucks had no issue with the creative as it was being used to build to the FTR match and also opened the door for the return of Jack Perry, who they helped get signed with AEW years ago.   Obviously, there is no love loss between them and CM Punk, either.

*Mercedes Mone will have her first match at Double or Nothing.  Last night was the start of the storyline for that match.

*With the announcement of WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington, we have been asked if that is planned as a retirement match for Bryan Danielson.  There is no word that is the direction as of this moment, but you could see where it could line up perfectly given Danielson has said this would be his last year wrestling full-time.

*While Forbidden Door has been moved to The UBS Arena in Long Island, NY, there is still a plan to run Arthur Ashe Stadium later this year.  A year ago, the plan was to do a PPV in the venue but it is more likely now that they will have another TV taping there in the fall.

*The plan is for Forbidden Door to feature STARDOM and CMLL talents as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling stars.

*The new Prime series Fallout debuted today.  AEW VP Pat Buck, AEW official and wrestler Kevin Matthews and WrestlePro talent Bobby Wayward all did stuntwork for the series.

*We have been asked about whether Sting will be making any appearances for the company in the near future.  We have heard nothing in that regard and honestly, since he just retired, there should be some time before he comes back for special appearances.

*Beyond the AEW PPV schedule announced, there will be additional Ring of Honor PPVs as well.  It's possible ROH could fill the July slot and Final Battle is always December.  This year will be the most PPV ever produced by AEW and it appears they will be pretty much going monthly.

*One of the reasons PPVs were announced so early was to allow fans who wish to travel lead time to prepare.

*AEW is holding an online pre-sale for their Saturday 5/30 Collision taping in Palm Springs, CA at the Acrisure Arena today.  You can use pre-sale code AEWGEN4.  You can order tickets via Ticketmaster.com.
