The following official obituary has been released for Jackie Crockett:
SPARTANBURG – After a period of declining health, Charles “Jackie” Jackson Crockett, 75, of Spartanburg, passed away, Wednesday evening, March 13, 2024, at Prisma Health in Greer.
Born in Charlotte, he was the son of the late James Allen Crockett, Sr., and Elizabeth Eversole Crockett. Jackie’s childhood was spent in Charlotte, and he joined his father’s business, Jim Crockett Promotions in 1967. Jackie was an integral part of the television production division of the company. Besides being a handheld cameraman, he conducted interviews, dubbing of interviews and distribution of the television programs.
In addition to his parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a brother, James “Jim” Allen Crockett, Jr.
Surviving is his loving wife of 27 years, Ruth Howard Crockett; one son, Charles Jackson “Chip” Crockett, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his brother, David Finley Crockett (Valerie) and his sister, Frances Crockett Ringley both of Charlotte. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Jackie will be laid to rest, at a later date, beside his parents and brother.
