John Cena appeared "naked" at the Oscars, and also now apparently has an OnlyFans page. What is he trying to accomplish/promote with his more "risque" ventures as of late?
My guess is he is going for buzz. It certainly worked with what he did at the Oscars. The OnlyFans page was a gimmick to promote his Ricky Stanicky movie for Amazon, nothing more.
Regarding inductions of the WWE Hall of Fame, do you think WWE would trust Asuka and Kairi Sane to induct Bull Nakano given their bond or will they play it safe and go with Madusa/Alundra Blayze instead?
In the past I would have said no way The Kabuki Warriors would induct her but with the subtitles that WWE does now, it’s possible. If I am guessing though I would think that they want a speech and that would make me lean towards Blayze.
And for Paul Heyman, with Brock Lesnar a no go, I'm sure people are expecting an ECW Alum to do it, which is completely fair, but wouldn't it be right to kayfabe this one time and have Roman Reigns "acknowledge" his wise man?
I would love to see Roman do it as he and Heyman have been the top act together. They are already kind of breaking kayfabe by honoring a heel so they could go further and have Reigns do it, sure.
I've also thought pro wrestling was about the art of "pretending" to hurt someone. So much of what AEW has become seems to include legit violence. So who is the audience for AEW at this point?
Their audience is people that want to see that kind of product. Some people like watching Darby Allin do something could maim him, or worse. I don’t understand their mindset and I am glad that I don’t. I watched Allin do that glass spot and I just shook my head at what an imbecile he was for doing it.
Do you think the Darby glass spot had a Katie Vick type effect on ratings coming out of Revolution?
I can’t say I think it but I can’t say I don’t think it either. Something has caused people to tune out the last two weeks. Was it that Sting is no longer there and those fans can leave AEW? Was it that people thought Darby went too far with that stupid spot? Was it that people didn’t want to see Okada attached to The Young Bucks? Was it that they put Will Ospreay into a way too competitive match with Kyle Fletcher? I honestly don’t know. But AEW expected a post Revolution boon and so far it hasn’t happened.
