LATEST ON WWE WRESTLEMANIA FAN LAWSUIT

By Mike Johnson on 2024-01-22 16:07:00

The appeal for the lawsuit brought on by Marvin Jackson against WWE over alleged injuries that occurred while attending Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas will no longer have a court hearing.  Jackson and WWE have been informed that the Court will rule on his request for an appeal without a hearing.  There is no time table on the court ruling.

Jackson filed a lawsuit against WWE on 1/12/23 before the District Court of Tarrant County, Texas alleging that he lost hearing in his left ear while an "invitee" to Wrestlemania 38 due to a pyrotechnics blast that occurred as part of the WWE production.

Jackson's lawsuit requested a jury trial and was seeking monetary relief of more than $1,000,000, including damages of any kind, penalties, costs, expenses, prejudgment interest, and attorney’s fees

That court had dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice, which traditionally meant Jackson could not bring the lawsuit back to life before the same court.     He later filed an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
