Dwayne Johnson appeared on FOX's NFL pre-game show today. At first, he paid tribute to Jimmy Johnson being inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring Of Honor last night. I am an Eagles fan and still, I have to say how great it was for Jimmy last night and today.
After a commercial break, Rock and his partner Dany Garcia announced that the XFL and the USFL have merged to form The UFL. Dwayne said that they joined the leagues together to improve football and give players and fans a better product. Johnson said that he hoped that by combining leagues they can cement the future of spring football after it stopped and started over the previous decades. Johnson made a point to say that he always wanted to play in the NFL but he was always the 54th guy when the rosters are cut at 53. He wants to give all of the 54s out there a shot to live their dream, as some players from last year made it to the NFL this year.
The league will air on FOX and ESPN. The first game is March 30 with last year's champions from each league playing in the opener.
