12/3 NJPW WORLD TAG LEAGUE REPORT FROM HYOGO, JAPAN

12/3/23 Results from New Japan's World Tag League 2023 from Hyogo, Japan:

1 - DOUKI, Yuya Uemura and Taichi vs. Taiji Ishimori, Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale

DOUKI attempted a Daybreak on Bonza but Bonza reverses into a suplex position and dropped DOUKI on his head with a Napalm Thunder Driver.

Bonza looked good in this match.

2 - Jado, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo vs. Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr.

Soberano pins Jado after a moonsault press.

3 -  Tomoaki Honma, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Master Wato, Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata

Suzuki pins Honma after a Gotch Piledriver.

4 - BUSHI, Zandokan Jr., Yota Tsuji and Shingo Takagi vs. Oskar Leube, Ryusuke Taguchi, Alex Zayne and Lance Archer

Takagi pins Oskar after a Pumping Bomber.

World Tag League Matches:

5 - HENARE and Great O-Khan vs. Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun

United Empire comes out to new theme music.  Interesting.

HENARE and Liona are face to face and already hyped to fight.  Kaun and O-Khan started the match and they built to the show off between Liona and HENARE.  They did a Haka war dance as their native cultures do.   It was brief but the crowd popped for it.

Solid match.  O-Khan bumped hard for Gates.

O-Khan pinned Kaun with an Eliminator.

United Empire earn 2 points with 6 total.

Gates of Agony remain at 2 points.

6 - Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya

Ishii pins Oiwa after a brainbuster.

Yano and Ishii earn 2 points with 8 points and tied for the lead with TMDK.

Oiwa and Kiyomiya have 4 points.

7 - Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Kidd comes to the ring with a chair.  Both teams fight all around ringside.   They pull out all their tricks and tactics.  The ref bumps.  Both teams brawl into the crowd.   EVIL and Yujiro drag Kidd out of the building and try to lock him out.  Kidd comes back out and dives off the second floor onto House of Torture in the crowd, like New Jack in the ECW Arena.

Complete chaos.  War Dogs are about to hit a Spike Piledriver on Yujiro.  Lights go out.    Lights come on and EVIL, Kanemaru, Yujiro and Togo are standing over the War Dogs.    SHO comes out dressed like an arena staff member, telling the fans that he turned out the lights.  

 Yujiro hits Pimp Juice on Kidd.  Coughlin pulls out the referee.   Kanemaru and SHO attack Coughlin.  Gedo comes out with a Sledgehammer and chases House of Torture.  Kidd hits a low blow on Yujiro.  Coughlin hits Yujiro with the Pimp Stick.   War Dogs hit a Spike Piledriver.

Coughlin pins Yujiro.

War Dogs get to 8 points and a three way tie for the lead.

House of Torture remain at 4 points.

Despite the ridiculous chaos, the younger team went over which is a theme in this World Tag League.  New Japan is doing their best to push the younger generation of wrestling talent.

8 - Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls

Good match.

TMDK hit a Tank Buster on Umino.   Haste pins Umino.

TMDK take the lead in A Block and the first team with 10 points.

Umino and Narita have 6 points.

Good match.  Umino and Narita look strong despite the loss.  TMDK continue to look like the team to face Bishomon at Wrestle Kingdom.
