MLW NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2023-10-16 11:00:00

MLW ran Slaughterhouse over the weekend, highlighted by two title changes with Janai Kai debuting to defeat Delmi Exo for the MLW Featherweight Championship and Rocky Romero defeating AKIRA to win the MLW World Middleweight Championship.  The show is available now on VOD for all FITE+ subscribers.

The next date for the promotion is the Saturday 11/18 Fightland event at the 2300 Arena in Philly, which is currently the final currently scheduled date at the venue. Fightland will feature a ladder match between The Calling and The Second Gear Crew.  Tickets are on sale now at MLW2300.com.

A lot of the day to day of running the company of late has been delegated to Mister Saint Laurent as owner Court Bauer has been focused on what has been described to PWInsider as "Legal matters", which one would think is related to the lawsuit against WWE.  There is a hearing scheduled for 10/27 in California.

MLW will run December in NYC's Melrose Ballroom in Queens on 12/7.

Matt Cardona, who appeared at the end of the Slaughterhouse broadcast to challenge MLW Champion Alex Kane, literally arrived at the show just a short time before after a tour of Australia.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. has been released from the hospital after his appendectomy and diverticulitis surgery.  We wish him well.

No Alexander Hammerstone at the show this weekend.  No word as to why.

The legendary Charlie Bruzesse was back working an MLW event for the first time in several months over the weekend.

The first MLW event of the year will be 1/6/24.  No location has been announced.
