CENA SAYS END OF CURRENT SAG-AFTRA STRIKE MEANS END OF CURRENT WWE RUN

By Mike Johnson on 2023-10-08 01:57:00

During the post-WWE Fastlane media conference, John Cena made it bluntly clear that his current WWE run would have to end when the SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood concluded, as it would require him to return to work in that world.

When asked if Hollywood would call him back from WWE, Cena responded that they would when the strike ends, noting:

"I've made it perfectly clear you can't do both because of the liability insurance. And if I were to try and juggle both, that would be incredibly selfish because I'd put a lot of people in the movie business out of work if something happened to me.  I stopped a project in the middle of it [because of the strike], I can't even talk about the project because of the strike we're in, but we're in the middle of it. So as soon as we get back to work, I'll get back to work. But I don't control any of that.  I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we can find a resolve that everybody's happy with. For right now, this is the best way I feel I can help is to come back home to my (WWE) family."
