Former Impact Wrestling Champion Steve Maclin was injured against Alex Shelley yesterday on Night One of the Impact Down Under tour against Alex Shelley. Maclin was pulled from today's event, where he was slated to wrestle Frankie Kazarian. Impact sources confirmed it was a legitimate injury, not a storyline deal, and that Maclin's status going forward is to be determined. He will be evaluated further once he returns to the United States. We wish him a quick recovery.
Beyond the Maclin injury, Impact sources praised the Australia tour as a huge positive, saying the promotion's first international dates since 2018 were a big morale boost for everyone involved. With the exception of Scott D'Amore and one production staff member, the tour utilized a local production team that had never filmed professional wrestling before, so there was a lot of learning on the job for all involved, one of the reasons the second night of the tour had superior production. They pretty much built the shows from scratch.
Impact fook part in a lot of community outreach and visit to local schools. The trip was sponsored by the local city government and was well received. The promotion received some nice local publicity and talents were being stopped in the street for photos and autographs. Impact is seeking to set up similar tours in the future if possible.
The model for the weekend was to produce and broadcast strong house show style events, which they obviously accomplished based on the quality of the shows and that model is something the promotion would like to continue doing in the future.

*The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Nick Aldis & Lio Rush.
*Eddie Edwards vs. Frankie Kazarian.
*Jonathan Gresham vs. Angels.
