What do you say to people that Roman Reigns has held the title for too long and it’s hurting WWE’s business?
Honestly, I just laugh and realize that they don’t know anything about how business works. WWE’s has gone up over his reign and that is the bottom line. If he was hurting their business, it wouldn’t be on the rise. It would be going south.
Did you notice the final shot of Night of Champions before the show ended? The camera was zoomed in on Roman defeated with Sammy and Kevin Owens in the ring, staring at him triumphantly, while the fans are singing Sammy’s theme before the show off the air? How perfect was that shot? It encapsulated the end of the Bloodline vs Sami/Kevin angle, a dejected villain and the heroes who finally conquered him and destroyed his empire. It was the like the final shot of a movie.
It was great stuff, 100 percent. For people that like drama and characters, like I do, as much as they like the actual matches, it was great stuff.
In your opinion, did that Night of Champions tag match elevate the tag team titles to be main even titles again, almost just as important as the world title?
I think they were already there after headlining night one of WrestleMania, but yeah they definitely got another push after that match.
Who should Sami and KO work against next? I would say a heel Matt Riddle and Randy Orton, other tag teams need to be built up, but what day you?
I need to see where The Bloodline story goes before I can answer that one.
Have the WWE PLE/PPV’s been the best pro wrestling done by any promotion? Ever since, Summerslam, they’ve been going to hot towns with a hot stars in the main event matches that play off hot angles. All the talent, top to bottom, are elite athletes second to none, and any suspension of disbelief sports entertainment that’s done… it’s done well. So are WWE PLE’s the best events for pro wrestling… despite what a certain contingent of fan might think?
Everyone likes what they like. To me, WWE has been really strong since Triple H took over creative and Vince McMahon backed off. If other people like other things, I am glad that they have the option. Being a wrestling fan doesn’t have to be tribal.
