The stream begins with a recap of the shocking end of the last event when Bill Alfonso smashed Matt Justice with a chair, allowing Matt Cardona to regain the Absolute Championship.
We are live at the Tadmor Shrine in Akron, OH, for AIW: Damn!
Money Shot (Elijah Dean and Zack Nystrom) vs Bulking Season (Chuck Stone and Arthur McArthur)
On commentary, Matt Wadsworth and The Duke wonder if this is a de facto number one contenders match, since Money Shot is undefeated in tag action and Bulking Season are the former champions. A spike piledriver gives Dean the pinfall over McArthur. The Duke says he now considers Money Shot the top contenders for his team's titles.
Steph DeLander vs Ziggy Haim
SDL, Cardona's new heater, grabs the mic and runs down AIW, claiming the fans can boo all they want, but they'll still buy her autograph. DeLander uses her size advantage and underhanded tactics, frequently distracting the referee. A F5 gives SDL her first win in AIW.
The Duke and the AIW Tag Team Champions, BitcoinboiZ, come to the ring for their Open Challenge, and Duke starts ragging on the crowd right away. The Duke has some stipulations for the Open Challenge:
1. No one who appeared on the last show.
2. They must be a former AIW Tag Team Champion.
3. They must be associated with the Armed Forces somehow.
Wes Barkley comes out and says he has a surprise.
The DX theme plays, and a former member of the DX Army comes out: Swoggle. Well, owner John Thorne pushes Swoggle through the curtain. Wes Barkley is throwing glow sticks to the crowd. (As a callback, Barkley, Josh Bishop, and Swoggle teamed last summer at the North Canton Street Fest as the Trademark Name Army.)
AIW Tag Team Championship: Trademark Name Army (Wes Barkley and Swoggle) vs BitcoinboiZ (Mikey Montgomery and Eric Taylor) (c) w/ The Duke
Swoggle decides he's had a long day, so Wes Barkley starts the match as Swoggle takes a seat on the apron. The Duke grabs at Barkley's ankle, which allows the Boiz to take the momentum. Swoggle gets the tag, and lifts Montgomery up on his shoulders. Barkley connects with a Doomsday Device. Taylor and Barkley fight on the floor long enough to distract the ref, Tom Dunn, and The Duke hits Swoggle with the Golden Boot. Montgomery covers for the win, and the BitcoinboiZ retain.
Swoggle grabs the mic and promises that sometime in the next calendar year, he will take the Golden Boot from The Duke.
Fred Rosser vs Dom Garrini
The next in a series of Dom Garrini testing himself against the best opponents possible as Garrini heads to Japan tomorrow. Rosser is favoring his ear, following the attack by Juice Robinson at the recent New Japan Strong event. Garrini fights out of the cross face chicken wing and hits a brainbuster. Rosser locks in the chicken wing again. Garrini sweeps Rosser's legs and bridges back to get a pin. Garrini gets the win.
Rosser praises wrestling in the midwest.
Steve Guy introduces Ron Simmons, who says he feels at home since he once played for the Cleveland Browns. The crowd gets their Damn!
And we go to intermission, which featured a great package about the history between Josh Prohibition and Philly Collins.
Steel Cage Match: Youthanazia (Matt Cross and Josh Prohibition) vs PME (Philly Collins and Marino Tenaglia)
You win by pinfall, submission, or referee stoppage. Before the match, Prohibition throws about five or six steel chairs into the cage. PME decide not to get into the cage, but Prohibition goes after them. After some brawling on the floor, they finally get in the cage, and the match officially begins. Philly Collins is bleeding pretty quickly. And heavily. Tenaglia sees the blood on his partner, and it looks like a switch got flipped in his head. Tenaglia hits an imploding senton on a downed Prohibition before Collins connects with the big moonsault. Sunset Dreams, but Prohibition kicks out. Papa Pepperoni, Collins' brother and fake referee from the last event, comes out and enters the cage. He punches the real ref, Tenaglia throws Cross from the cage, and Pepperoni chains and locks the door. Tenaglia has kendo sticks, and Collins has handcuffs. Cross climbs the cage and dives onto PME. Tom Dunn recovers and chokeslams Pepperoni. Tenaglia sets up chairs and tries for a Drunken Driver, but Cross hits him with a kendo stick. Prohibition reverses and hits the Drunken Driver. Youthanazia handcuff Collins, and Prohibition wants an apology. Collins is sorry for nothing. Cross puts a plastic bag over Collins' head. Drunken Driver, and Youthanazia get their revenge.
As the crew takes the cage down, we go to a package about Derek Dillinger and The Production.
Intense Championship: Derek Dillinger © w/ Ziggy Haim vs Chase Oliver vs Shaw Mason vs Tom Lawlor
They say it's Dillinger's twelfth defense. Shaw Mason and Tom Lawlor have faced off multiple times since Mason debuted. This is Oliver's third shot at the Intense Title in the last three months. Lawlor and Mason seem to work together at a couple points throughout the match. Multi-man match insanity. A massive forearm smash and a curb stomp onto the Intense Title gives Dillinger the pinfall over Mason.
Sam Holloway vs Kaplan
This one is a brawl, as you might expect with Kaplan involved. Kaplan suplexed Holloway on to the entrance stage. Back in the ring, Holloway kicks out. Holloway recovers and throws Kaplan with a release German suplex. Kaplan hits the lariat, but can't make a good cover. Holloway rolls out of the way of a split-legged moonsault. Shotgun dropkick and a chokeslam, and the rookie, Sam Holloway, gets the biggest win of his young career.
Absolute Championship: Matt Cardona (c) w/ Steph DeLander and Bill Alfonso vs Josh Bishop
SDL wants to crowd to hail the Deathmatch King. Cardona says he's so rich, he'll just cash his check and never come back. Commentary says Josh Bishop's only singles loss in the last two years was to Matt Cardona. Fonzie is already preparing with plunder at ringside. Cardona stalls for a while, but hits Radio Silence out of nowhere for a two count. SDL slides a door into the ring. Bishop reverses the attack and back drops Cardona through the door in the corner. Bishop lets a kid at ringside punch Cardona in the chest, but Cardona whips Bishop into a lariat from SDL. Bishop drags Cardona into the crowd, brawling and throwing Cardona's merch out. Bishop bridges a guardrail, but SDL blocks Bishop from tossing Cardona through it. SDL with powder to the eyes of Cardona. Bishop fights back and connects with a Death Valley Driver through a chair. SDL makes the save, and Fonzie throws a chair at Bishop. Bishop is bleeding after a couple more chair shots. Cardona calls for PME, and they triple powerbomb onto the bridged guard rail. Wes Barkley makes the save. Swoggle sneaks behind Cardona with a low blow. Barkley, Swoggle, and PME brawl to the locker room. Bishop hits a Radio Silence of his own. Bishop Bomb through a door, and Fonzie drops an elbow on the ref. SDL tries a low blow, but Bishop pulls out a cup. Another Radio Silence, and SDL tries to hit Bishop with the title. Bishop ducks and SDL hits Cardona. Cardona, Fonzie, and SDL take their turns with chair shots. Cardona swings a few con-chair-tos, and that's finally enough for a win for Cardona.
Notes: Tom Dunn, Charles Van, Porter O'Shea, and Jake Clemons were the referees. Matt Wadsworth handled play-by-play while The Duke, Dustin Alberty, and Brian Carson rotated on color commentary. AIW returns with Cibernetico de Mayo on May 5 in Kent, OH.
