LOTS OF MLW NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2023-04-16 14:54:00

Scheduled for Tuesday's edition of MLW Underground on REELZ will be MLW Champion Hammerstone & The Second Gear Crew vs. Raven's The Calling inside the War Chamber.

John Hennigan was interviewed about Creator Clash and noted Matt Cardona turned down the boxing offer:

The promotion was very happy with the live attendance in both New York City at the Melrose Ballroom and Philadelphia at the 230 Arena.  Both were capacity houses and up from the previous appearances in the building.  For Philly, it was the second jump in attendance in a row.  Anticipating a strong walkup, they added several rows of seats the night before to the configuration.  They are looking at a potential July return for each market.

The War Chamber match in NYC was produced by Rickey Shane Page.

The Battle Riot match was produced by Court Bauer and Jared St. Laurent.

Rickey Shane Page, Delirious and Lince Dorado also worked as Producers in Philadelphia.  Davey Boy Smith Jr.  and Lance Anoa'i worked as Producers in NYC.

There was nothing said to talents about the status of the promotion on REELZ nor the still ongoing WWE lawsuit.

Taya Valkyrie officially finished up this last weekend with the promotion and was saying her goodbyes.  The promotion was really appreciative of how hard she worked over the weekend.

Billie Starkz was said to have gotten banged up at the AEW taping the night before Battle Riot but still worked through it Saturday.  Starkz and B3cca both impressed over the weekend, we were told.

There was a belief Richard Holliday could be returning soon among those backstage.

Cesar Duran was not at last weekend’s tapings.  The current storyline is that he’s been kidnapped,

Former AAA/IWC promoter Ron Skoler being backstage in NYC was thanks to an invitation from Court Bauer.  That allowed Skoler and Gary Juster (who now works for the promotion) - the team behind the legendary AAA When Worlds Collide PPV in November 1994 - to reunite for the first time since 1994.

Thanks to Paul Jordan.
