AEW All Access S1, E2
The show opens on Saraya’s AEW debut at Grand Slam.
Britt Baker talks about how this is the biggest match of her career and that a lot of people still don’t know who she is, but they want to see Saraya return. It’s a milestone for the women’s division. She just hopes they have a good match and Saraya doesn’t get hurt.
Wardlow and Britt go to a CrossFit gym. Baker says Wardlow was her first friend in pro wrestling. They never dated but have always been close. Baker and Wardlow talk about how important the match is for Saraya and AEW. She was a huge fan of Saraya and doesn’t want to mess it up. Britt feels it will be her fault if it doesn’t go well.
Sammy & Tay on the road to Boston traveling with two cats. We see Tony Schiavone telling Sammy that Tony Khan loved his match he Bryan Danielson had and they want them to do a 2 of 3 falls match. Tay is a little bummed she’s not on the PPV but she’s excited for Sammy.
In San Antonio, Thunder Rosa introduces herself and gives her biography. She was a social worker in the Bay Area before going into MMA & Pro Wrestling. Becoming the women’s champion was a huge part of her life. They show her doing Busted Open Radio with David LaGreca. She describes her back injury and how she had to relinquish the title. She’s not faking her injury and is not happy with how fans feel about her.
Boston, MA
Sammy & Tay arrive for Dynamite. Sammy describes a 2/3 falls match. He says Bryan Danielson is a hero of his.
Young Bucks are in the locker room with Matt Hardy. Matt Jackson talks about how rough it was getting back into the ring after their layoff. Hardy says, "but hey at least it gets harder as you get older." Nick talks about how he doesn’t know what he would have done if he didn’t get into wrestling.
Sammy approaches Eddie Kingston and tries to squash their beef. He talks about how he was being the piece of crap character and Eddie took it personally. He goes over their PPV match getting cancelled and Eddie’s suspension. Sammy sits down and tries to clear the air of the weird energy there is between them and asks if everything is they’re good.
Eddie Kingston introduces himself and his love of wrestling. He says he’s not a character, he is who he is. Describes the injuries and says pro wrestling isn’t fake to him. Eddie says they got to be pros to Sammy and he says they have no beef and things are good. Sammy is relieved.
Britt discusses the importance of cutting promos. We see Saraya & her going over what they want to say on TV. Saraya talks about how she messed up her first promo after being away for so long. Baker says the women’s division doesn’t get a lot of promo time so it’s important they hit a home run.
Thunder Rosa at the doctor. She describes her lower back injury. She goes over the injures she’s had but this one is a herniated disc injury with tears. The doctor says she’ll need another injection and the tears take a long time to heal. Rosa wishes she would have enjoyed her time as champion more.
Tay talks about the learning curve in wrestling compared to just winning matches in judo competition. She’s not used to pitching ideas and talking to the bosses about how to get on more shows.
Sammy & Tay go see the Young Bucks about how she pitched an idea to Tony but he was so busy they didn’t know if it was received. Matt & Nick are sympathetic because they remember being new guys in Impact wrestling and how they didn’t pitch stuff for themselves. She wants to face Mercedes Martinez for the ROH title on PPV.
We see wrestling highlights and the reactions backstage.
Saraya and Britt are getting prepared for their promo. Baker doesn’t want to hurt the women’s division by doing a bad job. Saraya is nervous because he last promo didn’t go great. Tony wishes Saraya good luck.
Baker says promos are hard. If one of them messes up it can hurt their match but she’s excited.
We see the promo and backstage reaction. Saraya delivers in the mic and the segment goes well. Saraya says this was a big deal for her and it felt great telling the crowd she can wrestle again. Backstage reaction is positive. Britt says it couldn’t have gone any better but now she’s nervous for the actual match.
Sammy & Tay get ready for his entrance vs Danielson. They ask him how he’s feeling. Sammy says great but nervous. Danielson is cool as a cucumber drinking water while Sammy & Tay pray.
The show closes with highlights of the match and backstage reaction. Tay & Tony congratulate Sammy. Danielson thanks him and says it was great and that he had a blast. Sammy gets emotional remembering working random jobs and now he got to wrestle one of his favorites and he has a beautiful wife who loves him.
