Over the course of this weekend, I've had several people come up to me and ask as well as email me asking about the health and condition of WWE's one and only recognized offical Superfan, Vladimir Abouzeide, who as a matter of full disclosure, is one of my best friends in the world.
After speaking for a long time about it this morning, Vladimir gave me permission to pass along that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease after several years of doctors trying to lock in an official diagnosis of several health issues.
If you aren't aware, Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. For Vlad, a big problem has been his legs not walking and moving the way he wants them to.
Vlad wanted me to make his health issues clear as he was having a lot of physical issues this weekend and one person actually thought he was inebriated. He was not. He was just dealing with the ramifications of a disease he's fighting really hard to stay ahead of, but there are days where that isn't possible.
Vlad wants everyone to know he's OK and is doing his best to take care of himself. It was so important for him personally to come this weekend that he actually pushed a back surgery he really needs back to May. He just loves pro wrestling THAT much.
So, that's the update on Vlad - and he also asked me to say he's having a great time this weekend, but to answer the other question he keeps getting asked, "No, I don't know where my documentary is, either!"
