3/31 TOKYO JOSHI PRO WRESTLING RESULTS FROM LA

Straight from Globe Theatre Los Angeles - it's Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling Live in Los Angeles.

Tokyo Joshi traditionally starts with the Up Up Girls singing a song and the crowd knows the song they do.  

Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta vs Arisu Endo & Suzume

We start with a handshake

Suzeme starts off with Noa and Suzume gets a headlock, but Noa grabs hair. They run the ropes and Suzume gets a headscissors takedown and a drop kick. Noa cuts her off with kicks and an ax handle blow to the back. Suzume gets a drop kick and tags in Endo. Endo gets a leap onto Noa in the ropes, but Noa drags Endo to her corner where she is worked over. 

Kakuta is tagged in and gets a hair whip. Both Noa and Kakuta drop Endo for two. Endo gets a drop kick and tags in Suzume, who also gets a drop kick and a two count. She then gets a crucifix for two and follows with a drop kick. Suzume goes to the top and Noa tosses her to the ring and then rolls her around the ring before a two count. Noa hits a drop kick and goes for an exploder, but Suzume drops down to block it.

Double clothesline and Kakuta tags in. Kakuta gets a foot up in the corner and then gets a leg-based choke over the top rope for a cover and two only.

Suzume gets a surprise roll up for two and then a bulldog. Suzume goes to the top and hits a cross body for two. Endo is tagged in and they hit a double drop kick. Kakatua is able to recover and gets a series of kicks and covers for two. They then trade blows.

Endo gets a drop kick and locks in the camel clutch. Kakuta is able to crawl to the ropes for the break. Endo gets a knee to the back and covers, with Noa breaking it up. All four are in the ring and Endo gets a drop kick from the top. Endo gets a northern lights suplex for two. Endo goes t o the ropes and Noa grabs a foot to trip her, and both Noa and Kakuta get superkicks on her.

Suzume gets in the ring, takes a suplex from Noa. Noa and Kakuta hit a slam on Endo for the pin and the win.

Winners: Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta

Yuki Kamifuku vs Janai Kai

It’s a clash of styles as Kai is a serious martial artist and Kamifuku is more of a character.  Kamifuku gives a boot instead of a handshake. Kai then goes on the attack with strikes and kicks. Kai goes for quick covers. Kai goes back t o kicks into another cover. Kamifuku is able to get a series of kicks,  but does not go for a cover and instead locks in an octopus stretch. Kai reverses it into a dragon sleeper. 

Kai turns it into an elbow drop, and Kamifuku is able to faceplant Kai. Kamifuku gets a brain buster and covers for two. Kamifuku misses a kick and Kai gets an insigiri and covers for the pin and the win.

Winner: Janai Kai

Hyper Misao & Trish Adora vs Raku & Yuki Aino

The crowd chants for Trish Adora. Hyper Masao is having trouble with the mic but eventually gets it working. She introduces Trish Adora as her hero and gives her a mask. For this match she is Hyper Trish.

Trish starts with Raku, and they lock up collar and elbow with Trish forcing her back into the corner. They break clean. Trish strikes superhero poses between movies. Raku gets a waistlock and Trish hits a butt strike to get out of it. Trish then shoulder tackles Raku down. 

Misao tags in and then all four women are in the ring and Masao and Trish put on submission moves. They break the moves and Misao to work over Raku. Her and Trish try to give a double clothesline, but Raku dodges. Masao grabs a can from ringside to spray at Raku, but misses and hits Trish instead. Raku nails Masao, following up with a slam with her pillow. She puts Masao on the pillow to sleep and Raku is able to put Trish to sleep as well.  She then runs across their stomachs and covers both for two.

Raku tags in Aino and she hits a pair of leaps and covers for two. She hits a back body drop. They run the ropes and Masao gets an elbow strike and tags Trish. Trish hits a series of forearms and slams Anio before dropping a senton for two. Ainio is able to get a flying elbow. Anai tries for a gut wrench but can’t get Trish up, and Trish hits a series of shops and then tries for a suplex, but Anai blocks it and gets a gut wrench this time.

Masao and Raku tag in and Masao gets a knee to the back of the neck for two. Masao locks on a rear choke but Raku gets to the ropes to break it. Raku gets a series of strikes before Masao gets one of her own. Rakuy gets a Russian leg sweep and then a guillotine on the second rope. Raku goes to the second rope, but Trish grabs her foot. Aino cuts her off and Raku gets a fist the top of Masao’s head for two. Aino grabs Masao and holds her for Rakyu to hit a running swinging neck breaker.

Trish cuts off Raku and then drops Aino. Masao gets the spray can and gets Raku and Aino. Masao goes to the top and hits a cross body for the pin and the win.

Winners: Hyper Misao & Trish Adora

Miu Watanabe & Shoko Nakajima vs Heidi Howitzer & Max The Impaler

Heidi and Max look like Monsters from Mad Max here. 

Watanabe tries shoulder tackles and they do nothing against Max. Max misses a charge and Nakajima tags in and they double team Max in the corner. Max tries charges again and Nakajima keeps dodgeding. Nakajima is able to get a slingshot drop from the apron on Max. Nakajima bails from the ring and when she climbs in, Max is able to grab her leg. Max and Heidi slam into each other with nakajima between them.

Max lifts Nakajima and Nakajima escapes out the back. Max and Heidid trade quick tags as they have Nakajima in their corner. Max drops Nakajima from a gorilla press for two. Heidi tags in and chops Nakajima down. Heidi hits a stalling brain buster for two. Mas comes into the ring and they shoot Nakajima into the ropes. Nakajima is able to escape and shoves Heidi into Max and then drop kicks Heidi.

Watanabe is tagged in and hits shoulder tackles on Heidi. Then a splash in the corner and another shoulder tackle. Keidi kicks Watanabi off and gets a leg drop for two. Heidi hits a clothesline for two. Max is tagged in and Watanabi hits a series of forearms to no effect. She switches to double ax handles. Nakajima hits a series of drop kicks and forearms, but is able to take Max down with a flying head scissors. Nakajima goes to the top and M<ax just grabs her off the top and throws her down for a two count with Watanabi breaking it up. 

Max slams Watanabi and she gets up screaming both times. Watanabi is able to get a body slam on Max and then she slams Heidi on max. Watanabi gives Heidi the giant swing and rolls her out of the ring. Nakajima hits two dives onto Heidi and Max on the outside. 

Nakajima hits a Tiger Fade kick on Max, but Max gets a back breaker on Nakajima on her shoulder. Heidi gets the master blaster and Max covers for the pin and the win.

Winners: Heidi Howitzer & Max The Impaler

Rika Tatsumi (International Princess Champion) vs Billie Starkz

They lock up and quickly go to wrist locks. Starks picks the leg and they break clean. Taksumi gets a roll up for two and Starkz does the same. Starkz gets a clothesline in the corner and Tatsumi grabs a choke into the ropes. She hits a snap mare and follows with an elbow drop for two. 

They trade waistlocks and then run the ropes with Starkz getting a sunset flip for two. Starkz gets a kick as Tatsumi kicks out and then keeps up with more kicks. Starkz trips Tatsumi and then hits a drop kick into the back of Tatsumi’s head and covers for two. Starkz keeps trying for a suplex, but Tatsuimi is able to get a butt strike and then a low drop kick. She followed with a dragon screw and then a figure four. Starkz makes it to the ropes for a break.

Tatsumi hits a hip attack and then goes to the top. She leaps at Starks who catches her and turns it into a suplex. Starkz gets a neck breaker for two. Tatsumi is able to escape a back slide and then hits a series of forearms. Starkz gets a spin kick and goes to the top. She leaps over tatsumi and misses a charge into the corner. Tatsumi puts a bunny mask over Starkz’s head and misses a dragon screw the first time but gets it the second time. She gets another hip attack. She hits a twist of fate and the bunny mask comes off. 

Tatsumi hits a hip attack from the top for the pin and the win.

Winner and still champion: Rika Tatsumi

They shake hands and Starkz bows.

Maki Itoh & Miyu Yamashita (Princess Tag Team Champions) vs Mizuki & Yuka Sakazaki 

Yuka and Miyu start and Yuka is able to take Mayu down and after some quick mat wrestling, they get to their feet and Yuka misses a blow. Maki and Mizuki tag in and run the ropes and Mizuki is knocked down and Maki misses her Kokeshi headbutt. Maki gets a bulldog and Miyu and her whip Mizuki into the ropes and Yuka grabs her. They hit head scissors take overs so that Maki and Miyu go to the floor. Mizuki and Yuka leap from the top and Maki is rolled into the ring so Mizuki covers for two. Mizuki slams Maki’s head into the top turnbuckle and it does nothing.

Maki gets a drop kick and then the Kokeshi. Miyu is tagged in and Miyu drops Maki on Mizuki onto her for two. Maki is tagged in and gets a drop toe hold. She starts to lock in a surfboard, but Maki bites Mizuki’s finger instead and then covers for two. Miyu is tagged in and gets a series of kicks on a seated Mizuki for two. Mizuki gets a front cartwheel slam and tags in YUkua

Yuka gets a Hurricanrana, a rising knee strike and then a springboard drop kick from the apron. Miyu gets a back kick, but Yuka gets a scoop slam and a flying shoulder tackle. Miyu gets a german suplex and tags in Maki. Maki gets a DDT. Maki then gets a series of blows on the top, but Yuka is able to carry her off and get a suplex into a two count. 

Maki gets another DDT. Yuka gets a stalling brain buster and tags. Mizuki gets a kick through the ropes and a high crossbody on Maki for two. Mizuki gets a crossface and Miyu breaks it up. Yuki and Mizuki get a double cross body for two. Maki and Miyu try for a double t6eam move, but Yuka and Mizuki dodge. Maki and Miyu stop and declare themselves safe only to both get a kick to the midsection. 

Maki and Miyu get double DDTs. Maki goes to the top and Mizuki catches her and hits a super plex for two. They throw forearms at each other and Maki is able to counter for a single leg crab. She grabs a second leg and cranks back, but Yuka breaks it up. Miyu and face off and Mizuki hits a spinning cross body. Maki and Mizuki throw hands in the middle of the ring and then chops in the ropes. Maki hits a double ax handle and then Mizuki hits a double stomp to Maki’s chest. Mizuki goes to the top and Maki gets up, flipping double birds. She goes to the top and kicks Mizuki down. 

Maki and Miyu nails each other with kicks and a Miyu and Yuki roll to the outside. Yuki is able to get to the top and hits Miyu with the magical girl splash, followed by Mizuki with the double stomp for the pin and the win.

This was a fun show and a great introduction to Joshi wrestling, which, as my foster daughter says, is ridiculously Japanese.
