Hiroshi Tanahashi, during a post-match press conference in Japan, tossed out the idea of himself substituting for Will Ospreay, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, at the 3/31 New Japan Pro Wrestling x Impact Wrestling Multiverse United event in Los Angeles.
Ospreay is slated to face Speedball Mike Bailey.
There has been no official announcement of a change to the event, but given how New Japan runs things, they didn't have it thrown out there for no reason.
The current official lineup features:
*Will Ospreay vs. Mike Bailey
*Impact Wrestling Champion Josh Alexander vs. KUSHIDA.
*Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Mickie James vs. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Gisele Shaw vs. Miyu Yamashita.
*IMPACT Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey vs. Aussie Open vs. TMDK vs. Motor City Machine Guns.
*Moose vs. Jeff Cobb
*Impact Wrestling X-Division Champion Trey Miguel vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Rich Swann vs. Kevin Knight vs. Clark Connors vs. Rocky Romero
*KENTA vs. Minoru Suzuki
