AEW HOUSE RULES: TROY, OHIO NOTES & NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2023-03-19 10:41:00

AEW House Rules in Troy, Ohio last night officially sold out with over 3,000 fans in attendance.  There were about 90 tickets left the day of the show.  The company was thrilled with the turnout.

Tony Khan was in attendance at the show just as he would have been for AEW broadcasts.

The show was filmed with several handheld cameras.  They had AEW Dark banners up, but no word yet if any of the content would end up on an episode of Dark yet.  Obviously, AEW should tape all these events to help build additional library content.

AEW VP Pat Buck made his official in-ring debut last night.  If they are going to use him and other Producers as veterans cycled on and off live events to work with younger talents to help give them reps, it's not a bad idea.

Merchandise sold at the show included t-shirts for Jon Moxley and Britt Baker as well as a House Rules tour shirt, an AEW logo shirt, an AEW string backpack, an  AEW flag and more.  Some fans we heard from were hoping for more on the merchandise side to be available.

Bobby Cruise was the ring announcer last night.

Former WWE announcer and employee Tony Chimel was there last night assisting Rafael Morfi.  He has been brought in for a number of AEW events in bigger markets to help on logistical issues in the past.

Cleveland's AIW, headed by John Thorne. provided logistical support for the event as well.
