AEW Dark Recap (2/7/23)

Serpentico vs. Blake Christian

The match begins with Christian going after the arm of Serpentico, Serpentico gets free and he nails Christian with a chop. Christian responds with one of his own before sending Serpentico out of the ring, Christian goes for a suicide dive and Serpentico prevents it by landing a head kick. Serpentico follows up by hitting Christian with a rana followed by a flat liner for a near fall, Serpentico then hits Christian with a headbutt. Christian fights back and Serpentico nails him with a thrust kick followed by a low DDT for a near fall, Serpentico then cracks Christian with a series of chops. Christian again fights back and he nails Serpentico with chops of his own, Christian then hits Serpentico with a suplex. Christian goes for a rip cord hold and Serpentico counters with a roll up for a near fall, Christian then knocks Serpentico out of the ring after landing a corkscrew kick. Christian follows up by nailing Serpentico with a suicide dive, Christian gets Serpentico back in the ring before landing a springboard knee strike and rip cord Spanish fly. Christian also hits Serpentico with a springboard 450 splash for a three count.

Winner: Blake Christian

Rush w/Jose The Assistant vs. Aiden Park

The match begins with Rush leveling Park with a forearm strike that knocks him out of the ring, Rush sends Park into the barricade multiple times. Rush whips Park with a cable while Jose distracts the referee, Rush stands Park up while landing some chops. Rush gets Park back in the ring and Park tries fighting back before eating a forearm strike, Rush corners Park before landing an avalanche. Rush misses a second avalanche attempt and Park nails him with a few strikes, Rush recovers and he nails Park with a discus punch. Rush drops Park in the corner before just kicking him in the face, Park tries fighting back and Rush propels him into the corner. Rush then hits Park with the Bull’s Horns for a three count.

Winner: Rush w/Jose The Assistant

Kiera Hogan vs. Megan Myers

The match begins with Hogan getting Myers into a headlock, Myers gets free and she gets Hogan in her own headlock. Hogan gets free and Myers drops her with a shoulder tackle, Hogan recovers and she hits Myers with a drop kick. Myers recovers and she sends Hogan into the middle turnbuckle, Myers keeps Hogan cornered while landing a few strikes. Hogan fights back and she drops Myers with a running back elbow strike, Hogan sends Myers into the ropes before landing a hip attack. Hogan then hits Myers with a leg drop for a near fall, Myers recovers and Hogan quickly drops her. Hogan then hits a downed Myers with a sliding drop kick followed by a roundhouse kick, Hogan follows up with a spinning back suplex on Myers for a three count.

Winner: Kiera Hogan

Dalton Castle w/The Boys vs. Dante Casanova

The match begins with Casanova backing Castle into the ropes before separating, Castle trips up Casanova and Casanova kicks him away. Casanova then cracks Castle with a back elbow strike and Castle leaves the ring to get fanned by The Boys, Castle returns to the ring and he drops Casanova for a near fall. Castle follows up by landing a splash to the back of Casanova, Castle keeps Casanova grounded while landing more strikes and another splash for a near fall. Casanova starts fighting back and Castle again leaves the ring for a short time, Castle returns to the ring and Casanova cracks him with a right. Casanova follows up by nailing Castle with a boot to the face, Castle recovers and he hits Casanova with a t-bone suplex. Castle then hits Casanova with two more suplexes and a knee strike, Castle follows up by hitting Casanova with a Bangarang for a three count.

Winner: Dalton Castle w/The Boys

Slim J w/VSK & Sonny Kiss vs. Mascara Dorada

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Dorada and J, J gets Dorada down while working over his arm. Dorada gets free and he gets J in a headlock, J gets free again and he gets Dorada in a front headlock. Dorada gets free again and he gets J in a bow & arrow stretch, J eventually gets free and he goes for a pin attempt on Dorada. J again gets Dorada in a headlock and Dorada gets free before getting dropped with a head scissors takedown, Dorada and J both miss their follow up drop kick attempts. Dorada recovers to hit J with a spinning kick followed by a missile drop kick that knocks him out of the ring, Dorada goes after J and he gets attacked by VSK and Kiss while J distracts the ref. J chokes a downed Dorada when Dorada gets sent back into the ring, J keeps Dorada down while landing a few strikes. J then hits Dorada with a springboard reverse DDT for a near fall, J then chokes Dorada on the middle rope before distracting the ref so VSK and Kiss can interfere again. J then drops Dorada after landing a right, Dorada recovers and he sends a charging J into the corner.

Dorada then hits J with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker, J recovers to trip up a charging Dorada and land some follow up strikes. J briefly applies a chin lock to Dorada and Dorada gets free before landing a springboard back elbow strike, J leaves the ring and Dorada takes everybody out with a suicide dive. Dorada keeps J outside of the ring while landing some chops, Dorada gets J back in the ring before landing a springboard splash for a near fall. J escapes the grasp of Dorada before landing a backstabber for a near fall, J goes to the top rope and he misses a moonsault attempt. Dorada then hits J with a moonsault of his own on J for a three count.

Winner: Mascara Dorada

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs. Logan Cruz & Tyshaun Perez

The match begins with Floyd trying to interfere by dragging Perez into the corner, Perez then attacks the arm of Magnum. Floyd tags in and he gets Perez in a headlock, Perez gets free and Floyd nails him with a shoulder tackle. Cruz tags in and Floyd Floyd cracks him with a few strikes followed by a slam, Magnum tags in and he nails Cruz with a knee drop. Floyd interferes and he nails Cruz with a few strikes, Floyd stays in the ring after landing a double slam on Cruz alongside Magnum. Magnum tags in and he stomps on a downed Cruz, Magnum traps Cruz in the corner before landing some chops. Floyd tags back in and he immediately tags Magnum back in, Floyd and Magnum hit Cruz with a power slam/neck breaker combo for a three count.

Winners: The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd)

After the match, Lexi Nair interviews The Outrunners, who say they are the best tag team in AEW.

Baliyan Akki w/Mei Seruga vs. Rico Gonzalez

The match begins with Gonzalez hitting Akki with a chop before getting him in a headlock, Akki gets free and he briefly gets Gonzalez in a headlock before landing a shoulder tackle. Akki drops Gonzalez again before landing a soccer kick, Gonzalez recovers and he hits Akki with a springboard arm drag. Akki quickly fights back to hit Gonzalez with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker, Akki gets Gonzalez in a modified abdominal stretch before landing a slam. Akki follows up by hitting Gonzalez with a missile drop kick for a near fall, Gonzalez tries fighting back and he trades strikes with Akki. Akki takes over on Gonzalez before landing an enziguri on Gonzalez for a near fall, Gonzalez escapes the grasp of Akki before landing a rana. Gonzalez then hits Akki with a springboard moonsault for a near fall, Akki recovers to hit Gonzalez with a back breaker followed by a super kick for a near fall. Akki then hits Gonzalez with a fisherman brain buster followed by a top rope splash for a three count.

Winner: Baliyan Akki w/Mei Seruga

Konosuke Takeshita vs. EJ Nduka

The match begins with Nduka backing Takeshita into the ropes before missing a strike, Takeshita gets free and he nails Nduka with a chop. Takeshita and Nduka have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Nduka sends Takeshita into the corner before landing multiple corner spears. Nduka misses a charge in the corner and Takeshita nails him with a leaping shoulder tackle, Takeshita sets up for a back suplex and Nduka fights his way to freedom. Takeshita then cracks Nduka with an elbow strike, Nduka fights back again and he nails Takeshita with some strikes. Nduka follows up by nailing Takeshita with a spear from out of nowhere, Takeshita and Nduka have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Nduka then hits Takeshita with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall, Takeshita escapes the grasp of Nduka before sending him into the corner. Takeshita then hits Nduka with a blue thunder bomb of his own for a near fall, Takeshita misses a knee strike and Nduka hits him with a leaping shoulder tackle. Takeshita recovers to hit Nduka with a knee strike followed by a brain buster, Takeshita follows up with another knee strike on Nduka for a three count.
