WHAT IF TRIPLE H HAD BEEN IN JOHN LAURINAITIS' POSITION, PUNK'S SILENCE, MLW GOING LIVE? AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2023-02-02 10:00:00

Should we read anything into its been months and we still seem to have seen nothing from CM Punk, no comments, no rants, no appearances, nothing?

No, remember it was a long time between his WWE exit and the appearance on the Cabana podcast and then an even longer time before he returned to wrestling.  To the best of my knowledge, he's still under an AEW deal and as long as he's getting paid, it doesn't behoove him to say anything publicly really.  Whatever his next move is, whether it's to return to AEW down the line or leave, we'll know eventually, but I don't envision he'll say anything until it's time for that next move.

I just read the latest Q&A where one of the questions is how Stephanie McMahon was the person most responsible for the WWE Women’s Evolution but I do think that Triple H should have gotten equal credit for phasing out the model-type women and replacing them with indie wrestlers and mixed martial artists who do not fit the “Diva” mold. But what if Triple H replaced John Laurinaitis back in 2005 to 2009? Would the likes of Sara Del Rey, Mercedes Martinez, Asuka, Daizee Haze and even Kharma been hired by the WWE instead of the likes of Kelly Kelly, Alicia Fox, Maryse and the Bella Twins?

I think its pretty obvious his sensibilities and vision for WWE NXT at the time were a big part of building the women's roster and yes, if he had been in Laurinaitis' position, we'd likely have seen more of the indy performers of that era get jobs, but you have to remember that at the end of the day, no matter who was in that position, they would have been feeding Vince McMahon what he wanted.  In NXT, Levesque had the ability to hire who HE wanted.  There's a major difference there.

Is the MLW REELZ show live?

No, not at least the first month or so.  They are planned to be taped episodes.  Is it possible they could do live down the line?  If the network wants it, sure.  They have done live broadcasts on BeIN Sports in the past.

Do you think The Rock took a shotgun blast to the chest when it came to his credibility with the DC Black Adam stuff not working out?

No, I think that was a much larger story at play than any one actor or film.  Warner Bros. Discovery was in the midst of an insane upheval and merger.  I think Rock got caught in the avalanche and might have even seen it coming, making plays to avoid it, but at the end, he didn't.  I don't see it hurting his future star power or ability to produce.  Not at all.

Is John Cena in the next Fast & Furious?

I have seen that floated on some online sites but I haven't ever seen that he is officially.  It's possible he filmed something smaller for the film.
