NWA NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2023-02-01 11:02:00

The National Wrestling Alliance's first-ever live Powerrr broadcast was not without some issues leading to the event.

NWA owner and President Billy Corgan missed the taping due to the weather conditions hitting the United States currently as there were issues with his flight.  We are told a lot of talents and staff had to scramble to find alternative travel.

Pat Kenney also missed the taping.  We are told production was more or less a skeleton crew.

There were around 500 in Knoxville at the taping last night.

"Nature Boy" Paul Lee was backstage visiting.

There were high marks given to Thrillbilly Silas Mason for his work promoting last night's show, including an appearance on the local NBC affiliate.

The NWA is taping today and tomorrow as well, including a match that will determine the stipulation for the Matt Cardona vs. Tyrus NWA title bout that will headline the 2/11 'Nuff Said PPV in Tampa on FITE.TV.

NWA talents will be touring with Smashing Pumpkins, wrestling matches as part of the 10 date World Is A Vampire festival in Australia with live matches taking place inside the arena with NWA stars wrestling talents from the Wrestling Alliance of Australia.  There is a pre-sale for the Festival dates tomorrow.
