1/24/23 Results from New Japan’s Road to The New Beginning

Ryohei Oiwa vs. Great O-Khan

O-Khan pins Oiwa with a Suplex and cradle.

Master Wato and Jado vs. Taiji Ishimori and Gedo

Gedo punches Jado with brass knuckles when the referee was tied up with Wato and Ishimori.

Gedo pins Jado

Aaron Henare and Francesco Akira vs. DOUKI and TAKA Michinoku 

TJP made it to Japan and will be teaming with Will Ospreay later in the card.

They teased that Akira had a difficulty with DOUKI based on their history in Super Junior Tag League.  

Henare forces TAKA to tap out to Ultima.

Oskar Leube, Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Kosei Fujita, Shane Haste, Mikey Nichols and Zack Sabre Jr.

Ishii and ZSJ beat the hell out of each other.

Ishii forces Fujita to tap out to a Boston Crab.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. KENTA and El Phantasmo 

ELP pins Tenzan after Sudden Death.

They are trying to get El Phantasmo’s Sudden Death super kick over again as a devastating finisher.

YOH and Ryusuke Taguchi vs.  BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi 

BUSHI pins Taguchi after an MX.

TJP and Will Ospreay vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Taichi

DOUKI and TAKA come to the ring with Kanemaru and Taichi.  TAKA cuts a promo saying they are JUST 4 GUYS, and they will be making changes in New Japan.

Ospreay pins Kanemaru after a Hidden Blade.

Taichi and Ospreay brawl after the match and need to be separated.

Toru Yano, Shota Umino and Kazuchika Okada vs. SANADA, Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi 

Umino hits a Death Rider on Naito.   Umino pins SANADA after another Death Rider.

Big win for Shota Umino.   He has gotten two big wins in a row and in a main event.   His match against Tetsuya Naito should be good.

Shota Umino gets the mic and tells Naito that he got laid out by a someone who was not on his radar.
