During a post-show media scrum for ROH Final Battle, Tony Khan was asked about the status of ROH going forward.
Khan said it's been really nice having ROH on AEW programming and praised Chris Jericho's title reign.
Khan said that he said coming out of this PPV, he was going to reduce and limit some of the ROH matches and stories on AEW.
He said since he first acquired ROH, he was able to get Warner Bros. Discovery learn about the ROH product and he wants to grow the brand. He has relationships and works with a lot of different promotions as well as running two of his own. He said it's been great to have cooporation from different companies and seeing talents from all over the world. He's proud of the relationship with New Japan and said when he launched AEW, he was probably jealous of ROH's relationship with NJPW.
Khan said the ROH PPVs have done far better than anyone expected. He's waiting for updates for the final numbers but this was the biggest financial success in Final Battle history.
The PPV relationship with WBD will continue as long as he can continue it.
He's talked with NJPW officials about "building out" something unique with ROH.
Khan announced they have done a soft-launch for the Honorclub streaming service after acquiring ROH and it is now functional. Khan said it has a ton of ROH content including the PPVs Khan did. The PPVs will be there 90 days after the end.
ROH TV will be potentially added to the app as well and there will be a New Japan participation. He will announce down the line when it will start.
Khan said they will have a big January with their Seattle debut on 1/4. He said New Japan has Wrestle Kingdom that night. After they get past Seattle and Los Angeles, they'll have an announcement "soon after that" about the launch of ROH TV.
The new Honor Club website is www.WatchROH.com and will be priced $9.99 a month. It is live and based on a quick look, I'd say 85-90% of every ROH event I can think of is already there. ROH is touting 2,500 hours of content at launch.
