ACTION Wrestling “Bangers Only 3”

12/2/22 - Tyrone, GA

Streaming on IWTV.live

It’s been a few months since I’ve had the space to sit back for a Southeast show and I am so glad I get to see the 3rd year of Action’s Bangers Only series. The matchups look outstanding for tonight. Scott Hensley is your announcer! Dylan Hales and MOSE are on the mic and the ACEGAWD is kicking this off?!? Yes.

Match 1: Out of This World (Arik Royal & BK Westbrook) vs Team Re-up (Ashton Starr & Rico Gonzalez)

What an opener! Rico and BK kick this off, big power and a vertical suplex holds a Rico up high. Rico with a springboard arm drag. Starr in with a meteroa to BK. Westbrook sends Starr to the outside and hits a suicide dive to Re-Up. Acegawd’s in. Good quick back and forth here, quick roll ups and counters. Starr with a springboard cross body but it’s too early. Rico tries to keep it going but Royal catches him out of the air and dumps him. Side Russian to a flying kick from BK. Big senton for two! BK and Rico are doing a lot here. Starr and Royal are being used in bursts but they make their presence felt. Starr with the hot tag saves Rico. Tilt a whirl backbreaker to both guys! Starr with a roll through German but BK is out. Rico in to cutter BK out of a gory buster. Royal saves the pin and starts throwing his weight around. High moonsault from BK. Rico flies across the ring to make the save. Royal tries to powerbomb Rico but they both fly over the ropes. Quick pins between Starr and BK as Arik sentons Rico. Big BK powerbomb for two! Royal back in and Kobe’s Starr out of the waiting arms of BK for the wins. Yessssss! I’m loving both of these veteran/young gun tandems.

Winners: Out of this World

Match 2: Bobby Flaco vs Brogan Finlay

It’s been a long time coming but AirBnB is finally throwing down. Bobby is in on a tiny motorbike. He’s doing his party stuff with the crowd when Brigan flies in and blindsides him. Bobby sent into the metal wall of the venue. The crowd is very against this as Brogan drags his childhood friend back into the ring. Bobby pops right back and sends him out to the floor. Brogan eats lost and gets sent flying into the fans. That dude should have moved. Lol. Hard chops in the chairs. Good back and forth in the ring until Brogan posts Bobby and Flaco bounces off the stage to the floor. Owwww. Snap suplex. Brogan holding Bobby to the mat and keeping him grounded. Single leg crab, take his limbs away too. Bobby screaming as he gets to the rope, Finlay looking super confident. He comes running…big Bobby clotheslines! Dropkick sends Brogan into recovery mode on the floor but Flaco comes flying. Hugh cross body! Kick out! Brogan cracks a kick and comes running…Bobby leaps in and rolls him up. Leg held back and Bobby gets the three!!! Brogan lays out Flaco before storming to the back. Sore loser.

Winner: Bobby Flaco

Match 3: AC Mack vs Matt Sells

It’s so weird to not see Mack with a belt or trophy of any kind. Mack knows this too and admits this is a new start for him. It’s time to rebuild and become champion once again. The crowd is very much FOR this. At least Scott Hensley’s arms get the night off. They are also very much for Matt Sells, the “mayor” of Tyrone GA. Sells clowning a bit but Mack ain’t playing. He goes for the mat hump and Mack powders immediately. He needs to let Sells cool off a little. Sells just wants to have fun. Mack just wants a brawl. Sells tries a stunner but settles for Mack hitting the floor and eating a suicide dive. Mack with a flying knee off the apron. Round the world boot! Something I just noticed, is the ring lower than usual? Sells traps Mack’s head and humps him right into the mat. Kick out but Mack looks rocked. Sells goes for it again….ten more humps! Kick out! Cutter! He tries the palm strike but Mack has it scouted. Flying corner leg lariat! Kick out! Stunner from Sells out of a Mack 10! Mack throwing superkicks…Sells rages back…eats more kick. Hard slap from Sells and a crotch chop before Mack kicks the gut and spikes him with a Mack 10 for the win.

Winner: AC Mack

Match 4: Alex Kane vs Bryan Keith

Oh hell yeah. Kane is coming in the front door like the Good Hand should. These guys met once before a couple years back but they are in very different places in 2022. They struggle in the graps early. Kane gets the head and tries to wrestle it off. Hard chops and strikes back and forth. These are some hard shots. Big boot from Keith drops Kane. Big X plex from Kane! Shots to the back of the head! Bryan fighting back but gets tossed with a belly to belly. Bryan Keith is looking mad. Kane stomping him down but the bounty Hunter is staring a hole through him. Hard forearms, Kane tries to just suplex him out of the ring. Keith lures in Kane and takes out the leg on the ropes. Target the limb! He goes for a diamond dust…Kane’s blocks a tornado ddt…struggle…MARK OF KANE!!! It takes a moment to get the cover and Keith kicks out! Kane throwing chops…Bryan Keith with a cutter outta nowhere! Kick out! Hard back fist from Kane…Keith catches the tornado ddt! Tiger driver! Kane kicks out! Diamond Dust connects! Kane’s still up?!? He hits an exploder into the buckles and Bryan Keith folds up. Kane drags him out for the pin and keeps the Bounty Hunter down for the three. Kane heads back out the door from whence he came.

Winner: Alex Kane

Match 5: Suge D vs Alex Shelley

Oh maaaaaan. Suge comes out while Bryan Keith is taking in the appreciation of the crowd. Hales makes a point that Suge is wearing wrestling gear for once here. Also, this is just a reminder that Suge D is the first entrant in the 2023 Scenic City invitational. But Suge doesn’t know why he’s here. He’s beaten Shelley before. He wants the crowd to love him like they do AC Mack. And when he beats Shelley again, in THIS building, maybe the crowd will finally love him like he deserves. I don’t see that happening…but a Suge can dream. Alex Shelley is very happy to be a face in this building again, lol. Suge is showing his technical chops in the early going. This is UK Suge. This is the Artiste. Shelley finally catches Suge into a wild multi submission into a rollup. Suge is staying with his wrestling and not letting his evil side take over…yet. The crowd is actually starting to be split between these guys. Shelley with a dragon screw out of the corner and Suge is hobbled. Focus on the leg. Suge gets them to the outside and rams Shelley into the apron. Running boot to the face! Posted. Suge takes in the mixed crowd reaction and takes a cat nap on the corner and hopes for the count out. Alex makes it back and Suge applauds him. Sleeper hold to Shelley but he fights to the rope. Hard shots from Suge. Straight jacket hold while he lays in a bunch of knees. Shelley throws him off and lands a hard chop. Suge is stunned at the strikes. Big boots! Suge rebounds with a flying headbutt! Big toss for two! Suge locks up the legs and drops shots into it. Shelley fighting back through the pain. Headbutt! Suge crumbles! Reset and throwing hands. Shelley is exhausted but still standing. A palm strike from the Good Hand. Alex wakes right up and fires forearms until Suge drops. Shelley getting the stomps going. Kick to the gut! Faceplant into the  buckle. Shelley has the border city stretch on. Suge struggles and scrambles his legs around to the ropes. Great escape. Alex holding the wrist and landing chop after chop. Armbreaker! Shelley comes running, Suge hits an X factor! Kick out! This rules. Hard reversals, Shelley goes for shell shock. Suge reverses to a lariat and grabs a heel hook! Shelley struggling. Transition to a funiwara armbar but Shelley gets the foot to the rope. Suge is screaming in frustration. Superkicks from Shelley! Suge escapes another border city stretch! He tries a neck breaker but Shelley reverses and hits Shell Shock for the win. Fan-damn-tastic.

Winner: Alex Shelley

Suge offers a hand shake and Shelley takes it. They hug, great moment. Suge lays him out with a forearm. Alex Kane is out here and this is a huge mugging. Damyan Tangra hits the ring and saves Alex Shelley! Tangra is back! The Good Hand heads back out the door. Tangra and Shelley shake hands as they make their way out.

Match 6: Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini)(c) vs Culture Inc (Eli Knight & Malik Bosede w/ Nick J Holliday) (for the Action Tag Team Championships)

Hell yes. Nick Holliday hypes his team up hard. This room is hot for both these teams but the reaction for Culture Inc is strong. Malik and Big Dom test those shoulders. Knight and Ku have a faster pace but Culture Inc works a couple of good high flying double teams. ViF with a brutal double flapjack. Dom with big chops. Dylan Hales points out both of these teams are in the upcoming T4 summit so this could be a preview of things to come. Knight eats a double stomp and some hard kicks from Garrini. VIF doing what they do best, landing hard brutal shots over and over. The children of Tyrone are very much cheering for Culture Inc in this one. Stay woke, kids. Eli pushes Vif off and gets the tag to Malik. Sling blade to Ku! Knight comes flying and  goes splat on the concrete floor but hits Dom on the way. Malik with a split leg moonsault to Ku for two. Hard forearms! Ku with a snap butterfly suplex. Knee to Knight! Dom starches Knight with a right hand…reversal…..Eli with a superkick! Dom rebounds with a lariat. Malik back into it, gutbuster from Dom. Big lariat! Kick out! Vif going for the kill but Eli makes the save…Rock bottom Flatliner combo to Dom! Malik pulled off the apron..Knight hung up on the top…Muscle buster! Double stomp! Eli kicks out! So close. Dom sent into a high kick! Blockbuster! Moonsault! Ku makes the save! Malik tries to dive but Ku catches him into an apron slam. They go for Chasing the Dragon but Malik is in. The ref is trying to regain control as Eli rolls up Dom for a visual three but Ku turns around and changes the leverage on the rollup so Dom’s on top and the ref catches it now and counts the three. The crowd is stunned, as are the challengers, who have to regroup in the face of this VERY competitive loss.

Winners: Violence is Forever

Match 7: Masha Slamovich(c) vs Billie Starkz (for the ETU Key to the East Championship)

I’m hype for this. Masha just yeets Billie right into the crowd. Big lariats and headbutts. Billie is  just a vessel for hard hits right now. Masha is taking her apart and talking trash the whole time. Starkz finally lands a back elbow reversal and spikes Masha into the apron. Trading some quick pin attempts. Masha just starts throwing knees to the head. As an aside, these kids are so loud and energetic tonight. They are gonna sleep well if their tiny lungs can take in air after tonight. Billie lands a head kick reversal and gets a break in the storm. Billie with a forearm and German! She holds it! Another! Another!  Bridge for two! Starkz goes for the swanton but takes too long…Masha up there too…Billie drops her with a palm strike! She tries a gory bomb…Masha reverses to piledriver, Billie drops to a knee but Masha suplexes her right into the buckles. German from Masha for two! Quick jackknife! Knee from Starkz! Gory bomb connects! Kick out! Swanton! Masha gets the knees up and cracks the back of the head. Billie trying a flamingo driver but Masha escapes, kick, piledriver, goodnight Billie. Hard hitting, this was a lot of fun.

Winner: Masha Slamovich

Main Event: Adam Priest(c) vs Anthony Henry (for the Action Championship)

These guys have had a year of combat. Southeast first went to Henry. Uncharted Territory went to Priest. Henry’s first go for the title ended in a count out. There’s been a lot of Shenanigans from Henry and Priest is hot about it. Priest runs in and blasts Henry with the belt before the bell! Priest takes him right into the crowd and starts throwing chairs at him. Henry with a backdrop into the bleachers, oh god. Fighting into concessions and mercy. Priest blasted with a chair. This isn’t no-DQ…this match just hasn’t STARTED. Chopping each other apart on the stage! Suplex on the floor! We finally have a bell and Henry is alive with lariats. Big backbreaker for two. Hard kick to the spine. Priest ducks a chop and starts landing big  shots! Priest crotches Henry on top buckle. Superplex….no! Priest’s leg gives out and they take an ugly tumble from the top. Trading Germans! Hard chops. Both guys are hitting hard but they are feeling these shots. Trading pins! Henry with a brain buster! He goes for the suplex to the floor…Priest slips free but sent awkwardly out of the ring. Henry ties him up in the ropes and starts landing a series of superkicks to the side of the head. Priest can’t get free, the ref is begging Henry to stop so Proest can be freed. Priest is out and Anthony Henry hits Priest’s own DDT and flattens him for the three. ACTION HAS A NEW CHAMPION!

Winner (and new Action Champion): Anthony Henry

Matt Griffin exercises his CEO powers immediately. The turnbuckle was involved last time. The ropes were involved this time. In January, Anthony Henry makes his first defense against Adam Priest in a NO ROPES MATCH. Oh wow! Anthony Henry is furious as we fade to black.

First and foremost, I wanna send my love to the whole Southeast scene. I have MISSED this. This was a wonderful show to return on. Every match kicked ass. Suge/Shelley was the show stealer but all three championship matches were great watches and told some pretty compelling stories. I definitely have some catching up to do but this January show is looking prettttty good already and having a s***head like Anthony Henry holding the belt is a good move. Catch the replay of this when it hits IWTV.
