Impact Wrestling

12/1/22

We start with a quick recap of Josh Alexander’s current build with Bully Ray, who put his challenge down for the title at Hard To Kill and promptly attacked Josh, threatening to piledrive his wife unless he handed him the title belt at Overdrive. Bully Ray is out here and he’s full evil now (or….again, I guess). He leaves his broken Call Your Shot gauntlet trophy in the center of the ring for his promo. Bully Ray is working the crowd, who hate him. He feigns ignorance about whyyyyyy they might be upset with his actions. He’s pretty indignant about it. He puts over Alexander as one of the greatest champions in Impact…but Bully says Josh isn’t smart like he is. Josh forgot who the hell Bully is. He calls back to his…adventures with Hulk and Brooke Hogan. He says he built this place with his actions. Why would Josh put his wife in harms way by letting her be in the same BUILDING as him. Bully mocks Josh’s family’s trauma and how they are away from Impact for a few weeks to heal. Bully promises to be a three time champ after Jan 13th as Rich Swann hits the ring and attacks! Ray powders but Swann dives right after him. Swann clears the trophy from the ring and we have a ref.

Match 1: Billy Ray vs Rich Swann

Back from commercial and Bully Ray has the advantage. Hard corner chops crumble Swann. Ray is walking all over him. Swann dodges a seated senton. Big splash! Kick out at one! Swann back to the top but Bully uses the top rope to crotch him. Tree of woe and Bully takes aim at Rich’s knee. Rich firing back, hard kicks, shotgun off the second! Kick out at one again. Big back drop from Bully. Top rope senton misses! Swann with a 450! Kickout! High cross body but it’s not enough. Bully Ray grabs his chain and gives Swann a shot to the throat with it. The ref calls for the bell and gets right out of there before Bully can do anything to her.

Winner: Rich Swann (by DQ)

Bully ain’t done. He grabs a chair and blasts Swann on the outside. He rips a fan’s sign to pieces. Swann trying to recover but Ray walks him down with more chair shots. Refs pouring out but Ray threatens them with the chair. Bully Ray is under the ring…he grabs a zip tie and ties up Swann to the bottom rope, like he did to Josh Alexander a few weeks ago. Swann is stuck and Bully looks to be going for the kill. Tommy Dreamer pushes Bully away and confronts him in the ring. “What the hell are you doing?” Tommy asks. Bully questions Tommy’s loyalty and shoves him down. Scott D’Amore runs down now to talk Bully down. He takes him jacket off and walks down Bully Ray who is begging him to do something. Bully goes for Swann again but Tommy and Scott back him off. D’Amore finishes what he started and smashes the trophy further. Bully tells him to remember something…Scott yells that Bully is a piece of s***. Bully agrees…but Scott is the guy that hired him. Fair point. Bully Ray backs up the ramp. WILD opening segment…and the show is already a third of the way through?!?

We get a promo from Trey Miguel. People aren’t happy with him? He doesn’t give a damn. He did what he had to, in order to get his X Division championship back. He spray paints his logo into the belt, making it HIS.

Match 2: Moose vs Bhupinder Gujjar

Moose is all business and lays into Gujjar with some heavy chops. Bhupinder is looking for his biggest victory to date against the former Inpact champion. He’s very evasive, lots of reversals and sends Moose to the floor. He tries to follow but Moose boots him. Powerbomb into the apron from Moose. the ref is counting and Gujjar barely make it back in. Back from commercial, Moose has the match slowed down and he’s stomping him out. Gujjar trying to fire back but Moose just crushes him with a uranage. Moose posts himself on a spear…Gujjar going for the head! Ripcord knee! Sling blade! Up to the second….Moose walks off the gargoyle spear. Gujjar dodges a second spear but Moose immediately turns around and the third one connects for the three.

Winner: Moose

Moose pummels him after the bell and flings Gujjar over the top rope. “Do you know who I am?” Moose says he’s the guy who told everyone who Bully Ray was…and he was proven right because nobody listened to him. He won’t admit that he lost at Overdrive. He doesn’t want to hear his name. Hit some music…Joe Hendry is here?

Our new Digital Media champion is here to motivate everyone and the crowd is waving their hands for Joe tonight. Moose doesn’t look very motivated. He looks more confused about why Hendry is here. Hendry says Moose called him out unintentionally. Moose doesn’t haven’t time for this and invites Hendry to leave. Joe isn’t feeling that and says this is a cry for help. Moose attacks but Hendry reverses it. Off the ropes and Moose hits a big boot! Hendry is right back up…Moose comes running and turns into a spear from Bhupinder! Moose rolls out as Joe Hendry and Gujjar celebrate.

Backstage setup for tonight’s clash between Mickie James and Deonna Purazzo. Deonna is gunning to end Mickie’s career before she can complete her Last Rodeo. Mickie knows this is a hard fight for her and can’t look past her.

Match 3: Steve Maclin vs Frankie Kazarian

Kaz wants a big win after failing to capture the Impact title at Overdrive…but Maclin is on a roll. He takes umbrage with Kazarian getting a title show before he did. This is a good hard hitting opening. Maclin winning these exchanges, big uranage backbreaker. Maclin is pummeling Kaz. Hard shots to the abs and spine. Kaz tries a backslide…he escapes an Olympic slam, hard double axe handles. Double knees to the spine! Maclin tosses off the chicken wing! Kaz with a slam and springboard legdrop but can’t get the three. Guillotine legdrop on the apron. Maclin crawling to a chair…he grabs it and blasts Kaz in the stomach with it, ring the bell. What the heck?

Winner: Kazarian (by DQ)

Maclin pummels Kaz with the chair and yells “Where’s MY title shot?”. He drills Kaz with a KIA into the chair and leaves him laying.

Backstage with Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans. Tasha is furious they lost to the Death Dollz. She’s blaming Savannah…and if Savannah is so much better then maybe she should fight Taya next week.

Backstage with Eddie Edwards. He doesn’t want to talk about his personal life and marriage. He’s done with the past, including PCO who he buried. Eddie is focused on the future now. Delirious is here and right in his face…Eddie throws his hands up and walks away.

Backstage with Heath and Rhyno. They meet up with the Motor City Machines Guns. MCMG wants their title shot and Heath agrees they will get it and he’ll make it happen. Rhyno likes it too…and then promises to literally murder them. Heath laughs it off and MCMG have a thousand yard stare.

Main Event: Deonna Purazzo vs Mickie James

The Last rodeo continues. Can Deonna send Mickie home forever? Deonna wants revenge for Mickie’s victory over Chelsea Green which sent her away. Deonna is all over Mickie but James is doing well to avoid her onslaught. Good technical wrestling and fast paced pin attempts. Deonna blocks an early Mick Kick. Hard shots to the back and just stands on Mickies hair. James keeping it alive but she’s struggling. Slingshot into the bottom rope. Ow. Kick out. Deonna wrenching at the neck. Mickie fighting but Doenna cuts her back with a shot to the throat. Deonna eats a boot….Head scissor out of the corner! Mickie with a Running boot for two! Deonna avoids the MickDT but eats a flapjack. Mickie to the top but Deonna shoves her to the floor. She drags her back into and stomps out her lower back. Brain buster for two. Deonna is getting frustrated as Mickie keeps kicking out. Deonna sent flying to the apron and a dropkick sends her to the floor. Mickie dives to the floor! Deonna tries to catch her coming back in but eats ropes. Missile dropkick from Mickie! Neckbreaker! Deonna kicks out! MickDT? Deonna runs her into the corner. Pump kick! Mickie looks exhausted but gets a shoulder up. Deonna calling for the end…Mickie dodges the Queen’s Gambit! Mick Kick! Deonna kicks out! Deonna reverses another MickDT to the fujiwara armbar! Deonna gets the Venus di milo locked it just as Mickie makes the rope! Scramble on the ropes, Deonna tries a roll up with a handful of tights, Mickie reverses in and lays that cheap tactic back in kind and gets the three with a handful of tights!

Winner: Mickie James

The siren blares. Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace is here. This confrontation is all Mickie has wanted. Grace says she knows James wanted to work her way back to the top…and she’s done exactly that. Grace says they’ve both taken care of their business…so at Hard to Kill? They clash for the first time ever and the title is on the line. They shake hands but Grace pulls her in for the face off. Let’s goooooooo!

And now we cut to Eric Young and Deaner talking in…a prison? An interrogation room. There’s a shank between them on the table. Is Deaner willing to do anything to eliminate the sickness? What if the sickness is in the room right now? It’s a simple yes or no. They agree they both would do anything….and they cinematically battle over the shank. Young choking and gouging at his eye. Deaner on top and pummeling Young bloody. Young demands that Deaner should do what he was born to do. Embrace the violence and eliminate the sickness. Young screaming at him to eliminate the sickness repeatedly until Deaner stabs him with the shank. The segment ends with Young’s voiceover “I was the designer…but you are the design” as Deaner sits back at the table alone. Did…Deaner just murder Eric Young? Cut to black.
