FULL AEW DYNAMITE BLOG

By Cory Strode on 2022-11-30 20:54:00

It is Wednesday and it’s time for AEW Dynamite. We are in Indianapolis, IN at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Our commentary team is Excalbur, Taz, and Tony Sciavone.

We start with Jon Moxley coming to the ring where he sets the stage by talking about himself and how he is the fighter of AEW and no one is the back has the guts to face him. Adam Page comes to the ring and Mox asks him if he remembers the last time they met, and Page attacks Mox and then goes to the floor.  Security comes out and separates them, and they break apart and attack each other again. They fight and are pulled apart all the way up the ramp and into the back.

Dax Harwood vs Bryan Danielson

For someone who like me who loves the in-ring work, this is a dream match, and the crowd is chanting this is awesome before they even lock up. They start quickly with mat work, and after running the ropes, Dax goes toward trying for a submission move.

When they move to fighting in the corner, they lay it in stiff and then move to high flying attacks. They are going to try every style in this match, and when they go to picture in picture, they fight into the crowd. When we come back to full screen, they have moved back into the ring with Dax getting a series of suplexes.

The match moves into Big Moves punctuated with striking sessions. They fight on the top with Dax reversing the superplex and then Bryan reversing his reversal. From here, they transition to both men working to end the match and barely saving themselves while showing exhaustion. The construction of this match is just masterful as they take us on the ride.

If FTR wasn’t such a great tag team, I’d think they are getting ready to give Dax a big singles run as he is able to hang with Bryan. Dax is good at the little things as well, such as pulling down Bryan’s knee pad when putting him in the sharpshooter to put on extra pressure. Bryan is finally able to get the Labell lock for the win when Dax taps out.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Fantastic old school match that shows just how good both of these men are.

In the back, Tony Schiavone is with Ricky Starks talks about his world championship match and he will be in the Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal as well. He is coming after everything MJF has.

In the back, Mox and Page are still fighting and no one can keep them apart. The commentary team is telling us that they are both going to be tossed.

In another part of the backstage area, Renee Paquette is with The Jericho Appreciation society ((without Jericho) and Claudio Castagoli and Wheeler Yuta. She asks about the Ring of Honor title, and the JAS treats it like a joke. Claudio gets pissed and leaves, and Yuta challenges for the Pure Championship at Final Better, and Daniel Garcia agrees to the match.

Samoa Joe (TNT Champion and Ring of Honor World Television Champion) vs AR Fox

Fox looks tiny next to Joe, and Joe beats the tar out of him, and then mocks Fox when he tries to get up. Joe is knocked out of the ring and does his bit where he walks away from a leaping attack, but as he is mocking Fox, Fox preps and gives him a kick when Joe turns around, which is a nice way to show he’s not just a tomato can.

When we come back to full screen, Joe is talking trash to Fox. Fox gets a quick flurry of offense, but when he goes to the top, Joe does the walkaway spot again. This leads to the muscle buster, the pin and the win. I like that they didn’t do what Joe has done in a lot of his AEW matches, where Joe takes a ton of the other person’s attacks before barely pulling out a win.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Joe says he is the one true king of television. And Wardlow is backstage and says he is coming for what’s his. Why isn’t Wardlow charging the ring like he did when MJF was screwing him over? The crowd wants it, it is what we have seen Wardlow do before, go back to what got him over.

We get a video from Powerhouse Hobbs about how tough he is. Without an opponent, these videos don’t do anything for me.

We then see video of Hook beating Lee Moriarty.

William Regal walks to the ring, and with Mox out of the building, I guess he doesn’t have to walk away. Regal has a mic and a cloth covered prop in the ring. MJF is out next. He tells the crowd to keep their mouths shut and he will tell us who he and Regal teamed up, but the crowd is still talking.

He reads the e-mail from Regal who said that MJF has gotten weak, and MJF needs to grab the brass ring. MJF says that he then kept meeting with Regal and they put their plan together. He explains why he is above The Firm and he won’t be chasing them in a fairly funny bit. He says that he is going to make changes, and the current AEW Title belt makes him gag. He tosses it away, and under the cloth is the new AEW title belt.

Tony Schiavone says he has desecrated the title as MJF says it is the Burberry Belt.

MJF then mocks the crowd, Eddie Kingston, Ricky Starks, and Bryan Danielson. He then says that as long as he is in the company, no one else will ever know what it is like to be on top until the bidding war of 2024. He then says he hopes WWE wins the bidding war, which gets him heel heat with this crowd. This is a super old school promo with a twist of talking about the business.

MJF puts on the brass knuckles and starts praising Regal and strolls behind him and says he wants to give him something and nails Regal in the back of his head. MJF then says that Regal isn’t that bright because he made a deal with the devil. He then quotes Regal’s e-mail where he told MJF to send him something when he’d started to make a name in the business.

After MJF leaves, Bryan Danielson runs out and the commentary team talks about Regal injuries. Regal is stretchered out of the ring. AND TONY JUST CALLED MJF A PIECE OF $#!*!

We come back from break as they are loading Regal into the ambulance. I also noticed that the pinstripes on MJF’s suit say “Better than you.”

Ricky Starks vs (already in the ring) Ari Davari

Stokley Hathaway and Ethan Page come out. Matt Hardy comes out with them, and Stokley tells him to go to the back and Page says that Hardy needs to help him with the Battle Royal. He then says WHEN he wins the battle royal, he will face MJF after his match with Starks to pick the bones. I did like how Matt was forced to the back because the crowd was happy to see him.

Ari then attacks Starks, which does no good as Starks quickly beats him with the Rochambeau because we have to make Starks look like he’s a monster, I guess.

Winner: Ricky Starks

In the back, Tony is with Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Rebel. Jamie asks Tony to have a sit down with her next week.

Anna Jay A. S. vs Willow Nightingale

Willow takes control quickly and control the first part of the match until Anna gets a reversal in the corner. Willow plays up to the crowd like a late 80’s babyface and the crowd eats it up. Willow is in control again when we come back from the commercial picture in picture. Anna has a flurry of attacks, but Willow gets out of the Queenslayer, knocks Tay Melo off the apron and they move to the end as Willow gets the Doctor Bomb, the pin and the win.

Winner: Willow Nightingale

By the numbers match here for the baby face to get revenge against the heels.

Ruby Soho’s music plays and she pops up in the ring behind Tay Melo. Ruby gets to beat on Tay fdor revenge, and the crowd cheers her as she’s from this area.

And yes, Tax sings her theme song. Sadly, he does not dance. Let’s hope the use Ruby better than she was used before her injury.

We get a recap of the return of the House of Black.

We then see Orange Cassidy accept a match with QT Marshall. I like how Cvassidy just accepts any match without even allowing his opponents to finish asking.

It’s time for Jade Cargill and the Baddies to have their celebration with Chekov’s cake for her getting her belt back. She then says that the baddies need to watch their step because she decides who walks with her, and no one is as big of a star as she is. We then get more of her feud with Lil Bow Wow.

Wait.

Hold on.

There was a cake on a wrestling show.

And it is still in tact at the end of the segment.

IS THAT EVEN ALLOWED?!?!?!

We get a video for The Acclaimed. Nothing new there.

Death Triangle (AEW Trios Champions) vs The Elite Match #3 in a best of 7 series.

The Elite attack Death Triangle on the entrance ramp. Death Triangle is able to recover and attack The Elite right as we go to picture in picture.

They are still brawling outside the ring as we come back to full screen. The match finally starts when Penta is tossed into the ring, but the fight continues on the floor. During the fight, Matt takes out the referee. Penta is handed the bell hammer by Alex, but he and Rey fight over it. Rey tries to pull it from Penta’s hands, but Kenny V-Triggers into the both of them.

At this point it becomes the spotfest we usually get from these guys. It is super cool that Pac is able to still make his stuff look brutal, realistic and smooth with everyone else in the ring. For those who like these styles of matches )(and I do0 as long as they are not the entire show) each match has had a different story, with this one being that The Elite are desperate being down two to nothing, so they are brawling all the time all around the ring, and leaving Kenny to be the Ring General, working to get the pin.

Pac goes for the Black Arrow and Matt gets his knees up and then covers Pac for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Elite and now it is 1 for them and 2 for Death Triangle.
