PEOPLE TURNING ON AEW, DIXIE OR TONY, CROWD NOISE AND MORE

Do you think HHH will eventually get to the piped in crowd noise that has been on WWE TV since the Thunderdome? It really bugs me to hear piped in boo’s, cheers, and that constant noise during every promo. It takes a way from watching so much.

Honestly, I don't even notice it.  I did notice it when the stuff they were doing was boring and no one was reacting.  I heard cheers but didn't see anyone actually cheering.  As long as that isn't the case, it doesn't bother me.

I am from the UK. I’ve loved wrestling since I was a little kid in the eighties. I fell out of love around the end of WCW but continued watching bits and bobs. Thank god AEW came along. But then the fallout of All Out occurred and I have become disillusioned. It’s seems that CM Punk will not be back as no suitable resolution has been come to.  This along with other badly handled backstage issues and creative has caused me to switch off. Am I right to feel how I do and what is your opinion on the matter?

I think you have every right to feel that way.  Tony Khan has made so many bad choices over the last six months or so that I am hearing the same thing that you said from a lot of now former AEW fans.  Hell, I feel that way.  Watching AEW is the same chore that watching Vince McMahon's WWE TV was.  Bad booking makes a show bad for me, no matter how good the in-ring stuff may be.  My advice?  Start watching Smackdown.  It's the best wrestling show on TV.

Prior to CM Punk returning to wrestling, there were years were fans would chant CM Punk at WWE Events.  This was how the fans felt and it may have been a way to show their disapproval of the product at the time.  I've noticed since All Out, I've not heard any CM Punk chants at any AEW Shows.  Is it that fans are being too biased towards AEW/The Elite or they just don't care about CM Punk?

Well, they had some pro CM chants in Chicago last week, or at least anti Elite chants.  I guess we will see what happens as it becomes more and more clear that Punk isn't coming back to AEW.  It could be that he fans didn't realize yet that he was gone because Tony Khan has ignored informing them about Punk like the plague.  Sooner or later, it will sink in to people that Khan chose The Lollipop Guild over Punk and at that point, we may hear from some angry fans.  Or, they may just stop spending their money on AEW altogether.  I am getting a lot of feedback from people that are sick of the company, like the question above.

Also, CM Punk still seems to be a top merchandise seller judging by the Top Sellers on ProWrestlingTees and ShopAEW, why not remove all his AEW Merchandise if he's indeed done with the company?

See above. I think Tony doesn’t want to say anything until he has to.  Technically, if he is paying Punk while he rehabs, Punk “isn’t done” yet so he will keep making what he can off of him.  With that said, if the situation wasn’t ugly between Khan and Punk, he would comment on Punk’s status with the company, which he keeps refusing to do.  At some point he will have to do so, one way or the other.

Who do you think has been worse at managing their promotion thus far, Tony Khan with AEW or Dixie Carter with TNA? Dixie was smart enough to hire people in the business (bookers, creative, promoters, etc.) to handle their respective company functions, but didn't maximize revenue or invest in it the way to bringing aboard talent, make TV deals, tour outside of Universal Studios, etc. to be more fruitful. Tony is the opposite and invests a lot to bring in talent, have a toy line and video game, tour, etc., but doesn't invest in having others internally and does it all himself (now with two companies).

Tony has a lot more money to spend.  To his credit, he spends it.  I think Dixie was the better manager because, as you said, she hired people do to jobs instead of doing it all herself.  Tony takes too much on himself.  If he were delivering on it, fine.  But, he’s not.  In both cases, money from parents kept the companies going, Tony just has way more of it.
