11/23 NEW JAPAN SUPER JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE RESULTS

By James Kurokawa on 2022-11-23 17:54:00

11/23/22 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League From Tachikawa Area, Tokyo:

1 - Oskar Luebe and Kosei Fujita vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Yuto Nakashima

Fujita taps out Oiwa to a Boston Crab.

2 - Master Wato, Jado, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Tomoaki Honma vs. Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, Gedo and Taiji Ishimori

Owens hit a high knee strike to Jado's face and follows with a C-Trigger.

Owens pins Jado.

3 - Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito vs. Lance Archer, El Desperado and Taichi

Wild match. Taichi and Takagi battle on the floor.    They fight sumo style and Taichi takes Takagi down.   Taichi jumps in the ring and Takagi is counted out.

Suzuki-Gun wins by count out.

The fight continues with after the match.  Taichi whips the referee across the ring with a sumo throw, then beats up the young lions at ringside.

Fun match.  Since Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki are back in Japan, Suzuki-Gun have been tearing things up again and as a group they seem more vicious and violent.    The Japanese announcers have mentioned AEW every time Archer wrestles, which is ironic since he barely wrestles in AEW.  Good publicity for Tony Khan, but he will not be getting Japanese audience to check out the AEW product.

Super Jr. Tag League Matches:

4 - KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight vs. SHO and Dick Togo

EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi tried to interfere but Knight and KUSHIDA fought them off.

KUSHIDA pins Togo with a Hammerlock Suplex with a bridge.

KUSHIDA and Knight earn their first 2 points.

SHO and Togo remain at 0 points.

5 - Clark Conners and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. BUSHI and Titan

Good match.  YOH and Lio Rush looked great and their timing was almost perfect.

7.    DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Ace Austin and Chris Bey

Austin pins DOUKI.

Austin and Bey earn 2 points and have 4 points total.  They are in the lead at this point in the tournament.

DOUKI and Kanemaru remain at 0 points.

Austin and Bey were awesome.  They looked like a polished team.  Their upcoming matches against YOH and Rush and United Empire should be great.

8 - El Lindaman and Alex Zayne vs. Francesco Akira and TJP, with Gideon Grey.

Good match.  Lindaman and Zayne hit their best moves but could not take out United Empire.

Zayne goes for a Taco Driver, but TJP reverses him into a roll up and pins Zayne.

United Empire earn 2 points, with 4 points total.

Zayne and Lindaman remain at 2 points.

On English commentary, they said TJP and Akira were undefeated in tag matches.  They continue that streak tonight.  Gideon Grey is calling them "Catch 22".  TJP and Akira are the class of the Jr. Tag Division now.
