WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE TRIPLE H BRING BACK, UNDERRATED COMMENTARY TEAMS OF THE PAST, DID SID REALLY PURPOSELY MESS UP A WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT FINISH, THE LEGEND OF DOLPHINMAN? AND MORE

If you could suggest Triple H to do one thing to bring back to add to WWE events, what would it be?

I know this is all rosy nostalgia for me, but in an era of Peacock events and not having to sell PPVs, I'd really love to see the original "Teams of Five Strive to Survive" concept with four or five matches for Survivor Series.  I'd also love to see the return of the promos from each talent talking about why they're going to win the Royal Rumble, even if it was for YouTube.  I always thought those were a simple way of getting across everyone had a chance to win and everyone wanted to win, but again, rosy nostalgia from childhood.

Why doesn't Tony Schiavone tell us every week that AEW Dynamite is the greatest night in the history of this great sport?

I think Tony knows better than to invoke the end of his Nitro days, where he certainly wasn't happy.

What do you think is an underrated commentary team from the past that doesn't get the love it deserves?

First of all, I think anyone in 2022 who doesn't recognize ANY commentary team that had Bob Caudle on the team has missed out on some of the best all time pro wrestling announcing of that era.   Bob was the one of the best announcers of all time in making you feel like you had a family member watching and reacting to what was happening right before your eyes in real time, an artform that has dwindled away.  The world could use someone like him or Lance Russell to pop up in modern day professional wrestling in my mind.

But, you asked about teams.  Four immediately come to mind. In the late 80s, I always felt Jim Ross and Michael Hayes were really great when they were together and don't get the love I feel they deserve as a team.   Ross and Paul Heyman in WCW were always fun because you could get a real feeling for Paul getting under his skin.  I know no one will remember this but me, but I really enjoyed Gorilla Monsoon and Stan Lane when they voiced over WWF footage for home video releases.   Les Thatcher and Dutch Mantel were PERFECT for SMW.  For a more modern tandem, Steve Corino and Kevin Kelly were always pitch perfect in what they were called upon for in ROH.

How is it that AEW has all these legitimate fights with Atlas Security there?

Atlas Security hasn't worked with AEW since the pandemic.

I was listening to a YouTube show today and heard that back at Wrestlemania 8, Sid tried to swerve Hulk Hogan from kicking out of his legdrop, so they sent Papa Shango in to lead to a DQ instead.  I was also under the impression that Papa Shango was late to the ring, but is it possible Sid purposely screwed up a Wrestlemania finish???

I don't believe that story to be true, because if it was, he would have been fired on the spot.  I can believe there was a timing problem with the finish, especially given the long run down to the ring in the Hoosierdome, but not because Sid pulled a fast one on the company, putting one of the biggest paydays of his career at that point in jeopardy.  I just don't see it, even with Sid.  Plus, the Warrior run-in at the end makes far more for Hogan to be saved from a two on one beating after a DQ as opposed to a finish where he just hit a heel with his devastating "finishing" Atomic Legdrop.

I could have sworn there was an old territory wrestler named Dolphinman who used to do promos where he dove into the water and they used footage of dolphins beating up sharks on the show.  Am I dreaming this?

I think you may have fallen asleep on an old pro wrestling show and woken up with an episode of Flipper on, because there was no such wrestler.
