NEW NWA CHAMPIONS CROWNED: COMPLETE NWA 74 NIGHT ONE COVERAGE

NWA 74 Night One Live Coverage - The Chase Ballroom in St. Louis - streaming live on FITE.TV

- Joe Galli & Tim Storm welcome everybody to the pre-show and then they go over the card for tonight. 

The Country Gentlemen (AJ Cazana & Anthony Andrews) w/Joe Cazana vs. Gold Rushhh (Jordan Clearwater & Marshe Rockett) w/Austin Idol 

The match begins with AJ backing Clearwater into the corner before the ref breaks them, AJ gets backed into the corner the second time around and he shoves Clearwater away from him. AJ picks up Clearwater and Clearwater gets free before doing a little dance, AJ cracks Clearwater with a right and Clearwater goes down. Andrews interferes and he attacks Clearwater before AJ slams him, Rockett tags in and he eats a slam from AJ. Andrews tags in and he works with AJ to hit Rockett with a double shoulder tackle for a near fall, AJ tags back in and he works over the arm of Rockett. Clearwater interferes and he hits AJ with an illegal knee, Rockett then hits AJ with a drop kick before tagging Clearwater back in. Clearwater decides to choke AJ along the middle rope, Clearwater follows up by hitting AJ with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Rockett tags back in and he slams AJ before landing a knee drop for a near fall, Clearwater tags in again and he nails AJ with a kick to the midsection for a near fall. 

Clearwater keeps AJ down while choking him with his knee, Clearwater still holds AJ down while applying a chin lock to him. AJ gets free and Clearwater misses a charge into the corner before eating a power slam, Rockett and Andrews are tagged into the match. Andrews immediately starts cleaning house against the opposing team, AJ tags in and Clearwater sends a charging Andrews out of the ring before getting knocked to the arena floor. AJ catches Rockett in a roll up for a three count. 

Winners: The Country Gentlemen (AJ Cazana & Anthony Andrews) w/Joe Cazana 

- May Valentine interviews Jay Bradley, who says nothing because there are some technical difficulties on the pre-show.  

- Joe Galli announces the next NWA will be Hard Times In New Orleans on November 12.  

Rhett Titus vs. VSK

The match begins with Titus scoring a takedown on VSK, VSK makes it back to his feet and he gets Titus in a headlock. VSK uses the headlock to get Titus down and Titus gets him in a head scissors, VSK quickly gets free and he gets Titus in a headlock for a short time. Titus gets free and taken down again before getting VSK back in the head scissors, VSK gets free and Titus gets him in a front headlock. VSK gets free again and Titus drops him with a head scissors takedown, VSK gets free and Titus nails him with a monkey flip, VSK avoids a charging Titus and Titus crashes into the ring post. VSK leaves the ring and he slams Titus’ arm into the ring post, VSK returns to the ring and he nails Titus with some strikes. VSK then hits Titus with a slam followed by a splash for a near fall, VSK holds Titus down before landing a slingshot swanton bomb on his back. VSK holds Titus down again while working over the injured arm, Titus gets free and he eventually nails VSK with a drop kick. Titus then cracks VSK with some forearm strikes to the back, Titus follows up by landing a back breaker and gut wrench suplex on VSK for a near fall. 

VSK recovers and he quickly drops Titus with a super kick, VSK goes to the top rope and Titus gets his knees up on the frog splash attempt. Titus then hits VSK with a belly to belly suplex for a three count. 

Winner: Rhett Titus 

The Pope vs. Rodney Mack w/Aron Stevens 

The match begins with Mack jumping Pope from behind after a distraction from Stevens, Mack stomps away on Pope before choking him. Pope tries fighting back and Mack cracks him with some more strikes, Pope fights back and he nails Mack with some chops. Mack quickly recovers and he drops Pope with a back elbow strike, Mack sends Pope into the top turnbuckle a few times. Mack distracts the ref and Stevens nails Pope with a cheap shot, Mack then chokes Pope after Stevens' interference. Mack follows up by hitting Pope with an elbow drop, Mack misses a follow up elbow drop and Pope nails him with a knee strike. Pope then hits Mack with an atomic drop followed by a forearm drop, Pope corners Mack before landing an avalanche followed by a forearm strike. Pope follows up by nailing Mack with a multitude of elbow strikes, Pope then jumps on the back of Mack while he was on the middle rope. Pope follows up with a top rope high cross body on Mack for a near fall, Mack recovers and he attacks the throat of Pope. 

Mack misses a charge in the corner and Pope quickly drops him afterwards, Stevens interferes to distract Pope again and Pope quickly drops him. Mack catches Pope in The Euthanizer and Pope taps out. 

Winner: Rodney Mack w/Aron Stevens 

After the match, Rodney Mack and Aron Stevens attack The Pope again until JR Kratos makes the save.  

- May Valentine interviews Bully Ray, who says it was an easy choice to challenge Mike Knox to a Tables Match. Ray talks about his past with Knox during their time with Aces & Eights in Impact Wrestling, Ray says Knox will go through a table tonight. 

Pick Your Poison Match: Colby Corino & Wrecking Ball Legursky vs. Caprice Coleman & Gustavo Aguilar 

The match begins with Corino eating a few strikes from the opposition after a failed pre-match attack, Legursky tags in and he drops both opponents before tagging Corino back in. Corino nails a downed Coleman with multiple elbow drops, Legursky tags in and he attacks the back of Coleman. Coleman fights back and he nails Legursky with a drop kick, Aguilar tags in and he works with Coleman to hit Legursky with more drop kicks. Aguilar leaps off the middle rope and Legursky swats him down to the mat below, Legursky corners Aguilar before landing a chop. Corino tags in and he nails a cornered Aguilar with an elbow strike, Legursky tags in and he nails Aguilar with more chops. Legursky drops Aguilar before landing a headbutt to his back, Legursky follows up by tossing Aguilar across the ring. Corino tags back in and he nails a cornered Aguilar with a bunch of kicks and stomps, Legursky tags back in and he stomps on a downed Aguilar. Legursky follows up by nailing Aguilar with a press slam, Corino tags in when Legursky was setting up for a power slam. 

Corino quickly drops Aguilar before applying a chin lock to him, Aguilar gets free and Corino hits him with a neck breaker for a near fall. Aguilar recovers and he drops Corino with a tornado DDT, Legursky tags in and he eats a jaw breaker from Aguilar. Aguilar nails Legursky with an enziguri before Coleman tags in, Corino tags in as Coleman quickly starts cleaning house against the opposition. Legursky tags in and he eats some strikes from Coleman, Coleman hits Legursky with a springboard leg lariat for a near fall. Corino hits the ring and he nails Aguilar with a rolling cutter, Coleman drops Corino with a right before landing more strikes in the corner. Coleman avoids a charging Legursky and Legursky crashes into Corino, Coleman gets Legursky in Repentance and Legursky taps out. 

Winners: Caprice Coleman & Gustavo Aguilar, Caprice Coleman now faces Colby Corino in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match on NWA 74 Night Two.

- A video package kicks off the show featuring an NWA World Heavyweight Title bout between Harley Race and Terry Funk from 1977, which was won by Race. The video package transitions to highlights of the modern day NWA. 

- Joe Galli, Velvet Sky & Tim Storm welcome us to the pay-per-view broadcast. 

- Nick Aldis makes his way to the ring and he gets the microphone, Aldis says he loves the people of St. Louis. Aldis talks about being the NWA World Heavyweight Champion a year ago when competing at The Chase, Aldis talks about his match with Trevor Murdoch and losing the title. Aldis says that everybody is wondering when he will get the championship back, Aldis says the championship belongs to the people and history. Aldis talks about winning the Race For The Chase and wanting to get his belt back, Aldis then talks about how Billy Corgan pulled him from the title shot tomorrow night. Aldis questions what is left for him in the NWA and how he is considering walking away, Aldis talks about the first time he met his future wife in Mickie James. Aldis says people should respect her and everyone else who competed last year at Empower, Aldis talks about all he has accomplished in his life and career. Aldis says he has a point to prove tomorrow night against Flip Gordon, Aldis says everybody knows who built this house and he finishes by welcoming everybody to the show.  

EC3 vs. Mims 

The match begins with EC3 backing Mims into the corner before being shoved away, EC3 gets Mims in a headlock and Mims gets free before eating a shoulder tackle. Mims recovers to hit EC3 with a hip toss followed by a shoulder tackle, EC3 recovers and he sends Mims into the ring post. EC3 follows up by landing a divorce court DDT on the injured arm of Mims, EC3 traps Mims in the corner while landing some strikes. EC3 keeps Mims down while working over his injured arm, Mims gets to his feet and EC3 nails him with a modified STF. EC3 traps Mims in the corner while attacking his injured arm, EC3 misses a charge in the corner and Mims nails him with a few strikes. Mims misses a headbutt before nailing EC3 with a back elbow strike followed by a clothesline, EC3 goes to the ring apron before attacking the arm of Mims. EC3 then hits Mims with a One Percenter before applying The Purpose to Mims to force a tap out. 

Winner: EC3 

After the match, EC3 gets the microphone and he talks about standing on hallowed ground in the NWA. EC3 talks about paying homage to the past and he calls the past a story that has no power over anyone, EC3 claims that the past sucks and everybody is desperate for nostalgia. EC3 says the future is staring everybody in the face and he says everyone has the chance to control their narrative, EC3 says nostalgia is dead as long as he stands in the ring. Thom Latimer hits the ring and he stands near EC3, EC3 says Latimer is the only good thing to come out of the NWA. EC3 talks about everything Latimer has done personally and professionally since joining the NWA, EC3 says Latimer will be trapped by his demons and the past. EC3 promises to eliminate Latimer's demons before leaving the NWA, EC3 tells Latimer to pick his own path before leaving the ring.
