As PWInsider.com noted last week, the most recent episode of Impact on AXS drew the worst overnight audience since April, drawing just 92,000 overnight viewers. At the time, I noted that for the second week in a row, a good portion of cable and satellite guides listed the show as a rerun, which meant that DVRs wouldn't have recorded the show.
We have heard from Impact sources that they believe, based on ratings information they have received internally, that the rerun listing put a huge dent in the viewership of the first hour of the show but the second hour, featuring the elimination match won by Eddie Edwards to become the top contender to Josh Alexander, was much higher rated. This week's episode is also listed as a repeat and we are told Impact is doing what they can to get AXS TV to rectify the situation, but until they get this resolved, if you have Impact set for a series record on your DVR, you may want to make sure going forward the episodes are set to record.
