America is home to some of the biggest and wildest sports in the world, but which are the most viewed sports throughout the US and are they what you’d expect?

Founded in 1917 this sport is one of the most entertaining sports to date. Although not very popular outside the US, this sport is considered their favourite sport by 4% of the entire American population. The NHL is the fifth wealthiest professional sports league in the world following closely behind the English premier league in revenue. US viewers seem to prefer high contact or high octane sports and although soccer provides some great entertainment its peak viewing was only when giant English Premier League stars Wayne Rooney & David Beckham made appearances in the US soccer leagues after retirement.
The NBA is the second most popular sport in the US. Names such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal are just some of the most popular NBA players of all time, now known on a global scale regardless if you’re a basketball fan or not.
What started out as a simple game by a PE teacher due to the rain has become one of the most recognised and most played sports around the globe.
Baseball was once America's favourite sport. Today although baseball viewings are dwindling compared to the golden era, it’s still a highly viewed sport. In certain states like New York Baseball is still the most viewed and preferred sport.
American football more commonly known as Football is the largest, most viewed and most participated sport in the US. That being said Football has become a global sensation, so much so that the 2022 Super Bowl brought the same viewers as the last FIFA World Cup.
