PCO VS. GALLOWS STREET FIGHT, THE ROAD TO EMERGENCE PPV CONTINUES & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-08-04 23:32:00

Welcome to this week's Impact Wrestling on AXS TV report.  I apologize for the delay but I am on the road this weekend.

The episode opened with a look back at everything involving Honor No More in recent weeks.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Rosemary with Taya Valkyrie & Jessicka

Rosemary was in control early by threatening to bite Purrazzo to play mind games.  They did a test of strength with Rosemary getting the advantage.  Purrazzo worked over Rosemary's arm, focusing on the elbow.  Rosemary caught her with the hanging armbar.  They battled back and forth until nailing big kick on the other.  Rosemary nailed a Slingblade but missed a charge into the corner.  She attempted a spear but was snapped down with an armbar submission.  Rosemary fought to the ropes.   Purrazzo had words with Jessicka, so the referee admonished her.  Rosemary nailed a spear but the red was distracted.  Rosemary protested but was rolled up and pinned.

Your winner, Deonna Purrazzo!

The finish made sense putting over the challenger leading into the Emergence PPV.

Honor No More promo backstage.  Eddie Edwards isn't sure PCO can be trusted.  Vincent vouched for him but Eddie said PCO needed to prove himself tonight.

Gisele Shaw was interviewed.  She's going to do what no one else in The Influence has done by beating Masha Slamovich.

Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Brian Myers vs. Black Taurus with Crazzy Steve

Taurus controled the early portion of the bout.  Myers caught him in the corner and worked him over.  He went for a backdrop but Taurus spun out of it and nailed several tackles before dropkicking Myers through the ropes to the floor.  He scored with a great looking tope con hilo.  They went to commercial and when they returned, Myers was back in control with a chinlock.  Myers scored several two counts with a back suplex but Taurus came back with a dropkick to the knees and a missile dropkick off the ropes.  Myers cut him off and nailed The Implant DDT for a two count.  They battled back and forth before Taurus was rolled up for the pin.

Your winner and still Champion, Brian Myers!

Bhupinder Gujjar hit the ring and speared Myers, tired of having his challenge for the Digital Media title blown off.

Jordynne Grace did an interview promised Mia Yim would be defeated at Emergence.

They showed footage from the Ric Flair's Last Match PPV of Matt Cardona and Brian Myers ruining the Josh Alexander vs. Jacob Fatu title bout and DDP hitting Cardona with the Diamond Cutter.  Looks like Myers vs. Alexander is in the near future.

Masha Slamovich vs. Giselle Shaw

Another short Masha showcase as she drilled Gisele with sokme elbows and a backfist.  Shaw came back with a knee strike for a two count but Masha liked it and attacked her after Gisele tried to back off, scared.  Shaw was nailed with a German suplex and then wiped out with a forearm smash and the Snowplow.  THE END.

Your winner, Masha Slamovich!

Backstage, Mia Yim said that Grace isn't taking their Emergence PPV seriously.  They had just aired footage of Yim winning the Knockouts title from years ago from Madison Rayne, who took issue with the footage being shown.  Gail Kim made a match between the two of them for next week for the PPV go home show.

Rosemary was castigating Jessika for causing her to lose the match with the idea Taya was taking up for Jessicka as she doesn't know anything after being transformed in the Dark Realm.

The Motor City Machineguns vs. Joe Doering & Deaner

VBD attacked at the bell.  The Guns used some double team moves on Doering and then Deaner, scoring several two counts.  Shelley was cut off and worked over for a long time but kept kicking out despute then working over his neck.    Deaner missed a flying headbutt and Sabin got the hot tag.  They worked over Deaner but Doering broke up the pinfall.  They superkicked Doering who no sold it and wiped them out with a double clothesline.  They nailed a dive on Doering and doubleteamed Deaner for the pin.

Your winners, The Motor City Machineguns.

VBD attacked after the bell but KUSHIDA made the save.  Eric Young attacked KUSHIDA and nailed a piledriver.

Backstage after a commercial, The Guns and KUSHIDA challenged VBD for Emergence for a tag match.  Josh Alexander warned Alex Shelley not to take their match lightly at the PPV.  As Josh walked off, he encountered Eddie Edwards who offered to help him against Shelley.  Alexander was left to consider it.

They announced Bound for Glory will be held in Albany, NY.

Sami Callihan vs. Raj Singh

They brawled in the ring, exchanging punches.  Callihan took control and scored an easy pinfall with the Cactus Jack piledriver.

Your winner, Sami Callihan!

Sami called out Maclin and Moose.  Moose's music hit but it was Maclin who emerged.  The distraction allowed Moose to attack from the crowd but Sami sidestepped the spear and Moose hit the corner HARD.  Callihan battled Maclin and was going for the Cactus Jack piledriver but was low blowed and then speared by Moose.

They hyped up Killer Kelly's official in-ring debut next week.

Bullet Club promised to take out PCO tonight and Honor No More at the PPV.

Louisville Street Fight: PCO with Vincent vs. Doc Gallows

They brawled.  BIG SHOCK, right?  PCO was slammed on the rampway but rose up and suplexed Gallows on the outside.  He step up several chairs but Gallowed drilled him with a big boot so PCO was knocked off the apron and crashed through the chairs. Ouch.  They went to commercial and when they returned, a ton of chairs were in the ring.  They flung chairs at each other.

Gallows placed chairs upside down with the idea of putting PCO through them but was nailed with a chairshot.  Gallows was placed atop the chairs and smashed across the back.  PCO went to the top but was slammed off through the chairs.  Gallows scored the two count but PCO grabbed the ropes.  PCO smashed hom with a trash can, then started cutting the apron from the ring, exposing the wooden boards beneath it.  Gallowed drilled PCO with a foreign object and smashed him into the exposed wood for a two count.

PCO pulled out, of all things, a drum set from under the ring and smashed Gallows into it.  Gallows fought back and chokeslammed PCO through the ring, which broke.  PCO dissappeared into the hold that was left.  The referee began counting PCO out (in a STREET FIGHT?) but PCO rose from the dead before the ten count.  They continued to battle until PCO nailed him with a thumb-tack embedded glove.  That sent Gallows reeling into the hole, where he was pinned.

Your winner, PCO!

The Street Fight was the only thing of major note.  Everything else was just putting chess pieces into play for the PPV or building for the future, like the Masha bout.
